elizabeth26point2 I had to fight for that one. Sunday in the 30s + Monday in the 60s + Tuesday in the 30s = Migraine. I took my medicine as soon as it hit and then did everything I could not shorten how long it lasted. Switched today's track workout with Thursday's 8 mile run and forced myself out the door. The cold air did help but I am glad it is over. Don't do what I just did!
️Cut nails with precision. Never cut your nails too short. Cut straight across with a sharp, substantial straight-edged clipper. Never cut a nail in an oval shape that causes the leading edge to curve down into the skin at the sides.
Buy the right shoes. Tight shoes, especially around the toes, can help cause ingrown nails. This applies to casual and athletic footwear. When shopping for shoes, remember the following tips: Shop in the afternoon or evening, when your feet are at their largest, and wear athletic socks to get a proper fit. If ingrown nails are a chronic problem for you, wear wide-toed or open-toed shoes when you can.
Forget the V. Don’t fall for the old wives’ tale about cutting a V-shaped wedge in the middle of the nail’s top edge. The thinking is that the sides will grow toward the open center and away from the ingrown edge. Not true. All nails grow outward from the base.
️When To Call A Doctor
If your toe becomes infected, you need to see a doctor. Signs to look for include swelling, redness, pain and warmth when touched. Pus-filled blisters may also form. The doctor will most likely treat your infection with soaks, removal of infected skin and antibiotics.

coreewoltering Somedays you're the hammer, other days you're the nail... Today I felt like the hammer until about the last 3 minutes of the workout. The plan was 2x3miles @ marathon pace on 1 mile easy. I came through the first set in 5:52, 5:57, 5:56 and felt great. The first mile of set 2 was 5:56. I was on 5:55 pace through the first 900m of the second mile, then turned the corner into a 20mph headwind and crazy blowing snow. I decided to finish out that mile and then call it. 6:10. I am not a fan of cutting workouts short, but I could feel my heart beat in my ears...one thing I have learned about training at 10,000ft is that it doesn't take long to go from "okay" to "not okay" lol. Oh well, still got 11 miles for the day and I am already looking forward to next week's MP workout!

marythorson Track Tuesday (minus the snow and ice covered track but the concept is the same!). The treadmill and I are becoming better friends. 1.5 mile warm up, 3x1 mile at a 7:03 pace with a 600m recovery. 1.5 mile cool down for 7 total. I went into this with very heavy legs but once I got through the warm up I was ready to go mentally and physically. I felt like I cruised through this work out. Yes it was hard, but I felt so in control and strong. Woo hoo! Now time for an Epsom salt bath and a good book. 1h

  •   trialsoflifeloveandfitness I have actually read a lot about the benefits to treadmill training, some coaches say it is best training tool if used correctly. When you run on a treadmill you don't have as much back kick. You are forced to keep your hips in alignment and have a faster turnover with your feet. Beneficial in preventing hamstring injuries runners get from too much back kick on the road. I'll have to find the link to what I was reading and send it to you 44min
