jwalk_fit_science_guy Yesterday marked the 5 year anniversary of one of the busiest and craziest #tornado outbreaks in American history. Tuscaloosa, AL experienced the worst of the day, but I was lucky enough to catch a #funnelcloud that passed directly over my mom's neighborhood. Of course, I went out and filmed. This funnel started near Woodbridge, VA, caused some trouble during rush hour on I-95, crossed the Potomac and about a mile after these pics touched down on Allentown Rd at Auth Rd and caused a couple $100K of damage to Philmark Motorcars (the old Toddle House). The oak grove across the street on Joint Base Andrews still shows damage in its canopy today. #tbt #NeverForget #DMV 3d

fanninglawllc 14 Years Since a Tornado Levelled La Plata.
Our office was crushed and flooded by the toppled water tower, but our home and lives were spared. Not so for many of our neighbors.

This photo shows the powerful tornado that struck the town of La Plata, Maryland on April 28, 2002. This was one of the strongest tornadoes to ever hit the state of Maryland. The National Weather Service said the winds reached F4 on the Fujita scale (winds of 207 to 260 mph, or 331 to 416 km per hour) as it moved through La Plata. Five people were killed and at least 120 were injured. Hundreds of millions in damages.
