由細就熱愛碗仔翅既我真係愛不釋手 仲要配搭我另一最愛米線 真係無敵 不過呢 就略嫌米線有d淡 可能自己落醋麻油胡椒粉五多吧 有點要提一提就係米線份量好少 但佢有好多小食可以嗌 仲好yumyum

foodieguide_lily My friend and I thought @publicbrisbane might be great, unfortunately it wasn't. The service was fine but haughty (now, that's a word I rarely use!) and unimpressive, as was the food. We found it overpriced and nothing to write on Instagram about (yes, that irony was intended!). Firstly, we were taught how to order - which I don't mind, but it's share plates. I know how to share but nothing on the menu appealed. But when my friend and I tried to order one dish each plus a side before ordering more, we were told that we couldn't have a dish each (what?!). When I called her out and asked if she was not allowing me to order a share plate to myself, the waitress with attitude explained because they were share plates they would come when they came and couldn't be guaranteed to come together. There were only two other tables of two and I didn't see why this was such an issue, but we said it was fine.

Then my friend had to finish her entire meal 30 minutes later before I again asked if mine was coming. Miss Snootypants then reminded us for the fifth time that it was share plates - and added that mine would not be coming until the 'first course' was done (what, now?!). And when my Duck Egg, Truffle and Toast came, I got a very tiny, bland dish. It was ceremoniously cut in half for me while they taught me how to eat my tiny slice of toast. I could barely taste truffle, the egg was undercooked (the whites were clear) and all I could taste was salt. The salt and vinegar fries were not salty or vinegary, so we felt very ripped off and would not order more. My friend's KFD was fine but small and mostly bone, and even though she was starving she didn't even finish the side corn so we went and bought sushi afterwards. Unimpressed! We should have left as soon as we only saw two tables seated in peak hour... the only other people were all snooty 50-somethings in overpriced suits trying to out-snoot each other, so if that's your thing this place is for you. Surroundings were lovely though but not worth the prices.

  •   foodieguide_lily Haha well if you give real and balanced views, plug away! I get disgusted when I'm recommended places that are poor. I didn't think anything we expected was more than a standard expectation, and to be honest my standards of service in Brisbane aren't even high. Thanks for that @themadmaitred, I cringe writing bad reviews but some things need to be said! 18h

  •   dculp84 @foodieguide_lily of the newer menu I'm a fan of the salmon with black ants, the Hawaiian potato curry, the lamb and the brisket. My girlfriend and I eat there for $60 each for food and we don't think we get better value anywhere else in Brisbane. Maybe another crack and hope you get a different server. The wine range isn't great and is overpriced which is my one real complaint with the restaurant. 13h
  •   brakingforbreakfast The KFD, the brisket and some sides to share between three plus something else I don't recall... I wouldn't say it's cheap but I did enjoy it! I like that they push food boundaries and do something a bit different. 13h

foodieguide_lily Screw the healthy smoothies, ha. Some days you just need a big sugar hit to get you going (or in this case, numb my horrible scratchy throat!). This one's a salted caramel and coffee️ milkshake with a big fat dollop of salted caramel ice cream - because I can!
