  •   nicklausinthehaus @catholic_teen_posts Wrong. *a scientist who was a member of the Catholic Church devised the Big Bang theory, and nothing about the scientific method. The church may take ZERO credit for the work of talented scientists. 12h
  •   nicklausinthehaus @catholic_teen_posts The church had nothing to do with these findings; science did. This is why the hardworking scientists get the credit, and not the church that wasn't involved, but they just so happened to be affiliated with. Have some respect, and don't be so arrogant as to claim that the fucking Catholic Church was responsible for any of the shit that they didn't do. 12h
  •   catholic_teen_posts @nicklausinthehaus I'm not being ignorant, I'm saying historical truth there is no need for the insults or the language ok? "Another important early scientist of the era is St. Albertus Magnus (Albert the Great). St. Albertus, one of only thirty-three doctors of the Church, was a Dominican bishop and most notably taught Thomas Aquinas. He wrote treatises on mineralogy, botany, physiology, metallurgy, zoology, and a whole host of other topics. Albert’s intellectual achievements are so numerous and wide-ranging that he might be considered the first “Renaissance man.” Few thinkers in human history contributed more to the development of modern thought than Albertus Magnus. Yet only a few moderns have heard of him.

Other figures from the era include Petrus Peregrinus, a crusader and monk-knight who wrote detailed and influential accounts of his experimentation with magnets. Witelo of Silesia developed perspective optics, which eventually led to the beauties of Western painting. Johannes de Scartobosco made important contributions to mathematics and astronomy that we take for granted today. William of Ockham — of “Ockham’s razor” fame — made important contributions to logic and physics.

All of these men were deeply pious clerics. Neither ignorant mystics nor anti-Church rebels, they were the most learned men of their era. They were not provincial rubes from the backwaters, as modern pop culture portrays religious people today. Modern atheists with little sense of history like to think of the Church and religious people as the forces of darkness; in reality, the Catholic Church was the birth of the light of reason. Those religious people are the ultimate heroes of reason; without them, science would not have come into being. While many today would have it otherwise, whether from ignorance or personal anti-Catholic animus, the fact remains: Science and the scientific method is a Catholic invention, not a secular-humanist one." 10h
  •   nicklausinthehaus @catholic_teen_posts I've got an arrogant, obnoxious, dishonest one. 10h
  •   nicklausinthehaus @catholic_teen_posts These are scientists who happened to be members of the Catholic Church, who are remembered for being SCIENTISTS. The Catholic Church is not responsible for any of this. Furthermore, you are absolutely lying when you claim that the scientific method is a religious concept. Bullshit, dude. 10h
  •   catholic_teen_posts @nicklausinthehaus first I'm a girl my pic is on this page in several places second the Catholic Church funded this work so yeah it IS the credit of the church. Please stop with the name calling, you discredit yourself by doing that. It's historical fact 😑 10h

lillianandreadl I organized my shoes. I feel accomplished. Also, like a woman. 17 year old me would be proud. She only owned 2 pairs of converse and one pair of heels. God bless her. Also, there are two more rows at the bottom that didn't fit in the picture. #shoes #heels #excessive #dontjudgeme 1d
