repbyrep_setbyset Today I did a light weight full body session. Every exercise 2 sets of 10-15. Although the weight was light, this workout took it out of me. I was applying a 2 second concentric, a 2 second contraction, a 4 second eccentric and a 2 second stretch (some exercises a 10 second concentric and eccentric on a couple of reps). As I do with every session, I attempt to keep the muscle contracted through the entire rep range, this helps add to the tension and keep the muscle engaged which is what you want! Don't allow your target muscle to relax during a set. Another thing that helps add tension is applying intent! Ben Pakulski explains this and demonstrates this in his MI40 Program which I'm sure many of you already have. These last 2-3 weeks, I have been training like this, very light weight training with a lot of tension and hard contracting of the muscles. I prefer this style of training from time to time just to give my body a break and increase recovery. Peace Everyone!

repbyrep_setbyset Tip: If your pre workouts harden up, here's what you do! Depending on how bad they harden, break them up with a spoon and throw them into a blender (be sure to remove the anti-moisture satchel things). Once blended, place the pre workout back into it's tub then place it in the refrigerator. My pre's have not hardened up since I did this and it's been over a month. Try it.

repbyrep_setbyset Tonight's workout consisted of an upper body (forgot to write in deadlifts), high intensity (Mike Mentzer style), TUT session. 2 exercises per body part, 2 sets per exercise- 1 light weight and a heavy working set. Working set rep range varied between 6-10 reps. On every exercise, I applied a 3-4 second eccentric with intent (see #mi40), a good stretch and a hard contraction. Tension was kept on the muscles throughout the entire rep range (again intent is requires for this), this is extremely difficult to do with some exercises and weights used so I recommend practicing this with little or no weight in front of a mirror or on camera. Have a look and feel your muscles contracting and also take note of the angles your muscles contract best at and then carry it over to the gym. Eg with me, I get a better Contraction on my lats with a wide grip-for you it might br a narrow grip. Hope these little tips help!! repbyrep_setbyset Destroyed shoulders and Triceps today with a mix of MTUT and MI40x principles. The weight I was using was ridiculously "light" by some peoples standards but those 16kg Dumbbells on the seated shoulder press felt like they were 70kgs. You'll see me saying this again and again, it is about tension, not how much weight is in your hands. Yes, heavier weight does cause more muscle fibre damage but with incorrect form, it's useless. you have to progress to that heavier weight. You might be able to press 80lbs Dumbbells for 10 reps but I doubt you'll be able to do so with a 4 second eccentric on every rep... so, reduce the weight and get the form right, as the weeks pass, the weight will increase. repbyrep_setbyset Hit chest and Bi's with @bigdjames MTUT system. Sweet Lawd baby Jesus (and I'm not even religious). This style of training is intense, extremely intense. A training partner is highly recommended and also HIGHLY recommended is leaving the ego behind outside the gym. Got to use light weight for this as the the muscles will be undergoing a lot of tension/resistance. Your muscles are going to be punished severely. repbyrep_setbyset Hit back today pretty hard! 1 thing I need to work on is keeping my head up and getting a little lower on the T-bar rows. On every exercise, I was applying intent, pulling outwards (the bar/handles apart) not from my hands but from my humerus. Applying intent on movements will help you get the correct rep tempo and hwlps apply some serious tension on the muscle. Want to learn how to apply intent? Check out MI40!! Warm up-
