_locology_ Featuring Loc Queen @iamcadycupcakes I actually started my locs on a whim. I had chopped all my permed hair like three times (July 2004, Jan 2006 & Jun 2008) and started growing an afro. By Feb 2009, I had asked my best friend to twist my hair in small platts just to see how it would look on my face. Now it's 6yrs later and I'm loc'd & lovin it! @iamcadycupcakes 2h

_locology_ Featuring Loc King @lewisdaniel1482 I'm Fari and I'm Trinidadian and Grenadian. I was the first in my family to grow locs and It was a rough process. It's been about 2 1/2 year journey. The first couple of months is the hardest part. I've been criticized, turned down by jobs, and even looked at as a bad person so I was tempted to just cut it off but I dealt with it. I kept it clean and healthy, now everybody loves them. They get long before you know it n I love em! 2h

Hi I'm Taryn and I've been loc'd for 13 months as of 5/19/15. This is my 2nd loc journey and it has taught me so much about patience & self-love. I fall in love with my locs over and over again and I can't believe how far they've come. I'm looking forward to many more years of embracing my crown

_locology_ Featuring Loc Queen @krysdoll6ixx Hello! So my journey started August 2013 one day after I decided that I wanted to live BOLDLY and be natural without hesitation !When I look back at my locs I think "Wow " it has definitely been a journey since that summer because now I am a nurse in Toronto , became a vegetarian/vegan and many lessons of life have come my way! It's been a blessing that's constantly expelling confidence out of me! Keep rising Queens & Kings!🏿 5h

_locology_ Featuring Loc Queen @4everlovely_17 My name is Jacoba. I have had my locs for a year now and I love them. I've always wanted locs it's just that I always thought of what people would say or how I would look. I can say getting dreads is totally worth it I'm mad I didn't do it sooner. My dreads gives me lots of confidence. Before I got them I would barely take pictures. Now I love taking pictures because I love how they look and how I look with them. I love them and I'm never getting rid of them. 5h

_locology_ Featuring Loc King @lib_monroe Been growing my locs for about 7 years now. My name is Monroe and I'm a senior at the University of Rhode Island. Where I'm from it's like deadhead city, everyone has locs.. When I moved to RI to start college I stood out because not too many people had locs up here. The only reason I locked my hair was because I was so tender headed when I use to have braids, so I had two options either cut it or lock it. I can honestly say I made a great decision because now my hair is apart of me, it is who I am. I come across those who tells me that I'm not gone be taken seriously with my hair. I'm pretty sure a lot of y'all get the same thing also. My only response to those negative comments are that my hair does not define who I am. I'm one year away from my bachelor degree in Communications and so far my hair have not stopped me from achieving my goals. 5h

I started my locs out of pure laziness. One day I got tired of doing my hair and putting weave in my head and decided to loc up. So a year later here I am. At first I was skeptical but as months passed I began to deeply understand me from the outside in. I don't need anything manmade/"fake" to make a unrealistic illusion of my beauty. And that's what I love about my locs.
