royally_stranded Hello #curlfriends ! Many individuals in the natural community debate whether hair typing is relevant or pertinent to one's personal hair journey. Although hair typing may seem like pointless knowledge, it actually goes hand in hand with what most find more important...porosity. In general, hair with little to no curl pattern (1a-3a) tends to be highly porous (meaning moisture is absorbed easily and lost easily). As hair texture gets curlier, porosity starts to lower (meaning moisture doesn't penetrate easily and is lost slowly). This is because the actual make up of very curly hair (especially African American curly hair 4a-4d) makes it difficult to absorb the moisture naturally produced by the scalp. So by being aware that 4c hair is very kinky with little to no curl pattern, you also know that this type of hair will tend to be low porosity. But just because you know you are high/low porosity doesn't always mean you are aware of the specific type of hair growing on your head. Knowing and understanding your hair from different angles is beneficial for a healthy journey not only back to your hair, but to yourself too ! Happy growing ! #royallystranded #bigchop #baggymethod #crown #curls #cowash #curlsbythepound #curlsforthegirls #coils #deepcondition #fro #getnoticed #ghemethod #greenhousemethod #growth #health #healthyhaircares #healthyhairgoals #healthyhair #healthyhairjourney #hair #haircaretips #haircare #inversionmethod #ilovemyhair #isupportblackownedbusiness 11h

dreaonthegram I haven't shampooed my hair in a month, just hair conditioner and deep conditioner, combing with a wide tooth comb, and i haven't felt my hair as soft and bouncy, since Before damaging it (dying and frying). I don't experience as much dandruff like I used to and i plan on continuing to just co wash my hair. Next goal is to not wear as many hair ties cause it's really the enemy. #cowash #curlfriend #curlygirl #noshampoo #curlyhair 11h
  •   lullyhb Have you tried to use Kerastase? It's expensive, but it's worth it. The shampoo is very hydrating. 9h
  •   manny_li Yes!!! Get it!!! I'm not using shampoo anymore either.. That shit is toxic 8h
