join_jessica_xo You know I'm here to help.... Another question I see a lot 'what do you eat?'. Truth is, when I started my journey I was still eating pretty shitty... I lost probably 70+ pounds eating frozen pizza, french fries, frozen yogurt...REGULARLY.....I'm talking almost daily... I drank a lot of diet soda too. I just counted my calories..but I was eating way too little (1200 calories a day) & I was still eating for pleasure...not fuel. I took a lot of baby steps along the way, slowly trying new things, cutting out foods that I knew weren't good for me & I gave up diet soda/artificially flavored drinks... Now here are staples in my diet: chicken, eggs, ground turkey, steel cut oatmeal, sweet potatoes, brown rice, veggies (faves are baby spinach, broccoli, cauliflower & asparagus), fruits (faves are bananas, apples, grapes & blueberries), raw nuts (almonds & cashews), peanut butter, shakeology, & full fat cheeses (when I feel in control on my portions). As far as beverages: water, water, water & more water.., unsweetened vanilla almond milk, alcohol on occasion (usually try for less sugary drinks ️ no margaritas or wine). Take your time. It's a process. It's okay to take baby steps. Make small changes that you can SUSTAIN. Because having the mindset that you can lose the weight & then go back to eating like shit, is just not true.... You have to create a new lifestyle, one that you can enjoy. It's okay to treat yourself, but remember that food isn't meant to heal your emotions. It's not there to comfort you. Feed your body the nutrients it needs to function properly... workingonkate Day 36/100 of #workitout100 and it was #armday ! That delicious #foodporn up in the corner is banana & egg pancakes with chocolate chips! First time making them! Decided i need an actual griddle since my pan is warped if I'm going to be making more #proteinpancakes otherwise they run together and make 1 giant pancake that is too heavy to flip so it ends up making an enormous mess and looks like a scrambled attempt at something like a pancake... Lol.
