Earlybird St Francis Hospice for Cats
sfhfc This is Bob, he is a foster cat of SFHFC and has lived with Carole for a couple of years now after not settling in with the other residents at the hospice. Although it took a while for Bob to adjust to having Solomon around he does now seem quite settled and relaxed with him which is really good to hear.
Yet again the story of Bob and Solomon go to show that homing a cat with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV+) is very rewarding. Carole has done a great job with them and it is so nice to know that both Bob and Solomon from SFHFC have both been given a second chance at living a normal life in a loving home. When you know this it is heartbreaking that sadly so many FIV+ cats get euthanised every day, a lot of the time due to misconceptions about this illness. If you want to know more information about FIV please visit our website and have a look at some of our articles and news blog.

sfhfc The other day Katrina went round to visit Solomon to see how he is doing and took a couple of photo's. Here is Solomon relaxed and enjoying some fuss. We know it hasn't been easy for Carole since losing Will earlier this year, but I am pleased to say that Solomon has settled down well and at the moment is thankfully getting on well with Carole's other cats Bob and Ethel. 20h

sfhfc Claire and myself have just been away for a couple of days with Penny and it seems that Francis has really missed us. I'm now enjoying a nice cuddle, his purr is so adorable to hear. A big thank you to our friend Mick for looking after our six cats. With two of them on daily medication, including Tommy on his twice day injection for his diabetes it doesn't make getting away very easy. 4d

sfhfc Tonight Katrina sent me this picture of Sylvester looking very relaxed. When we had to vacate from Sappeton Close, we really weren't sure how all of the residents would settle into their new foster homes, but when I see a picture like this, showing Sylv looking so happy and relaxed it really does warm my heart and confirms that the right decisions were made for each of them. Sylv is another of our residents who is FIV positive, but who is living proof that any cat tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus should NEVER be wrote off. 1w
