emmahayes1234 I am the happiest girl alive right now! Finally got a hold of the banned books by Stephen King (Richard Bachman) - The Bachman Books! It all started after he pulled the story rage off the shelves after people copied his story and went into schools causing massacres 😶 I love his works and must own them all! 🙂#bannedbooks #thebachmanbooks #rage #stephenking #book #books #instabooks #reeses #hersheys 4h

thebookishmermaid I was really lucky today and found enough reading time to finish 1984 and Salt to the Sea! I had to read 1984 for my English class but Salt to the Sea I read on my own time and I LOVED it! I think that it was so interesting to get different perspectives from World War II and see into the eyes of the various groups who suffered under the Nazis. The novel was also filled with rich language and powerful motifs. This is only the second book this year that I have given 5/5 stars! (the last one was in January) -Also, my fandom of the month club box arrived today and I won't post spoilers yet, but I've been anticipating this theme for a very long time 1d

imdavidabrams Across America with Humbert and #Lolita: There is so much I could say in this space about the sex, and even more I could say about Nabokov's delicious, delirious punnage, but what I'm most interested in is the way he captures post-war America. And so, on this #MemorialDay weekend, when many of you are preparing to drive, fly, paddle, and pogo-stick out on your own (presumably shorter) vacations, I thought it would be interesting to capture the Hum-Lo trip visually. I've inserted photos and postcards to show the places (actual, and merely imagined on my part) the lovers visited on their odyssey.

read_em_and_weep__ Hello lovelies, this well read beauty started my love affair with Russian Literature. Nabokov is a master of his craft and this is arguably his masterpiece. I love stories where the characters spiral out of control when they dare to dive into their desires. Unnerving and unnatural this novel is compelling and beautiful. The insight he gives into the power of passion and the constant battles between morality makes this impossible to put down. 5/5 every time. What do you re read ? 4d

spiritbreeze Book 9 of 40: Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. I've been reading this along with a group of grade 9 students. This was published when I was in High School and is still, unfortunately, relevant for teens today. The unthinkable happens at a party and Melinda is thrown into silence and depression. Her story teaches young people to speak up. #anewyorktimesbestseller #popsugarreadingchallenge2016 #bannedbooks #speak 4d
