bulletsandbiscuits Bags...and bags...and bags of jerky for my DaddyO @breezybb123 ....Love you pops!! 4w
  •   ireland1975 *of 4w
  •   ireland1975 What cut if meat do you prefer for jerkey?? 4w
  •   bulletsandbiscuits @ireland1975 the cheapest!! Haha. Any meat with no fat/marbling. Beef = I usually use London Broil. If it's on sale, I'll also use sirloin roasts. Deer= we usually harvest one deer just for jerky. We will cut it all up into strips then I freeze baggies of meat and use from that. I tend to stick with the steaks, loins, etc. the fat will make your jerky rancid and funky. Seriously though, buy the cheapest meat with the least amount of fat. It's a home run everytime 4w
  •   ireland1975 Awesome!! We have dozens of dang roasts right now and this is PERFECT! Thanks for the pointers! 4w
  •   bulletsandbiscuits @ireland1975 go for it! I usually make my strips around 1/4" thick. Anything over 1/2" thick will take forever to dehydrate!! I also cut my meat half frozen, makes for easier slicing. Good luck! 4w
  •   leanbodysolution Nice one! 4w
  •   meandean55 Mmmm ! 4w

bulletsandbiscuits Asparagus season makes my heart go pitter patter... 6mon
  •   bulletsandbiscuits @earthscanner we do but only get enough to piss you off. Haha. I buy by bulk off the "seconds" table at our local farmers market. It's cheaper to do that than bother with growing it. I think this year we are going to till it under 6mon
  •   bsbowles How do you can this? Anything special you use!! I love love asparagus however I'm the only one at home that does! I would love to can the bulk of ours just not really sure where to start! 6mon
  •   hobbyberries my dinner tonight! 6mon
  •   melaniedeboard @bulletsandbiscuits hi! Do you pressure cook or water bath? Thanks 6mon
  •   lgmusky Yes yes yes!! 6mon
  •   danibg Makes me miss Grandma! 6mon
  •   bulletsandbiscuits @bsbowles asparagus has to be pressured canned and super simple to do. Wash the spears, stick in the jar with water then pressure cook for 40 min at 10 lbs. some people add salt but I don't. @melaniedeboard 6mon
  •   melaniedeboard @bulletsandbiscuits thanks Lori!!!!! 6mon

  •   peavinegardens That's my goal this year. Still a few weeks away from getting them in the ground. 6mon
  •   bulletsandbiscuits @peavinegardens we have the garden tilled but nothing planted yet...good thing since we had two frosts this week. Grrr. The market had a killer sale on green beans so I couldn't resist 6mon
  •   pip29 Yummy!!! 6mon
  •   peavinegardens @bulletsandbiscuits Got to love a good sale, I figure if I plant 60' this year I should be able to. Can some, last year I was eating them as fast as they grew. 30' feet of them. 6mon
  •   kirbyandkraut Love it!! 6mon
  •   virginia_ann_teas I hope to can beans this year. Still haven't ventured into pressure canning. 6mon
  •   tomatoesonthevine I have not made the leap yo pressure canning- I need too 6mon
  •   bulletsandbiscuits @virginia_ann_teas @tomatoesonthevine you guys definitely should try pressure canning! I grew up canning with the water bath method. 6 yrs ago my husband bought me a pressure canner and I let it sit in the box until last year. I was scared to death of it hahah. Now the pressure canner and I are buddies ;) 6mon
