  •   bulletsandbiscuits @ireland1975 I've never done stew so I have my fingers crossed hahah. I cubed a roast and put them in the bottom of my jars. Then added 1/2 tsp each of pepper, salt, parsley, garlic powder, Paprika and worcheshire sauce. Also add a beef bouillon cube to each. Then I cubed the following and layered in the jars, potatoes carrots onions and celery. I didn't have any frozen peas so I used limas haha. If I had frozen corn I would have added that too. Fill the jars with boiling water and pressure can at 10lbs for 90 min. I used quart jars. 2mon

  •   bulletsandbiscuits @mdg829 hahaha My husband bought me a pressure cooker 5 years ago and sat on the shelf until last year. I was scared to death of it! All I ever did was water bath canning. Last year some gave me all the free corn I wanted. Long story short I made myself use the pressure canner because I hate seeing fresh food go to waste! So now I'm addicted to the stupid thing hahah 2mon

  •   bulletsandbiscuits @ireland1975 the cheapest!! Haha. Any meat with no fat/marbling. Beef = I usually use London Broil. If it's on sale, I'll also use sirloin roasts. Deer= we usually harvest one deer just for jerky. We will cut it all up into strips then I freeze baggies of meat and use from that. I tend to stick with the steaks, loins, etc. the fat will make your jerky rancid and funky. Seriously though, buy the cheapest meat with the least amount of fat. It's a home run everytime 3mon

  •   bulletsandbiscuits @ireland1975 go for it! I usually make my strips around 1/4" thick. Anything over 1/2" thick will take forever to dehydrate!! I also cut my meat half frozen, makes for easier slicing. Good luck! 3mon
