Acredite se quiser, mas estou aqui em Natal desde domingo e não consegui nadar no mar ainda. Foram muitas as caminhadas à beira-mar indo e voltando do encontro, mas mar que é bom nada. Amanhã tem! Já o meu colega aproveitou a falta de tradução simultânea hoje e deu uma escapadinha para caminhar na areia. rocketstarspace Boeing - VISION FOR MARS, Part VII

At the end of 2014, Boeing unveiled "The Path to Mars", a short movie on their plans for NASA's round trip manned journey to the Red Planet in the mid-2030's. RocketStar's series presents Boeing's six major pieces to the Mars puzzle. Previously, we have posted details on 1) the SLS, 2) Orion MPCV, 3) solar-powered Space Tug, 4) inflatable Space Habitat and 5) Mars Lander.

Today, we present the sixth and final piece of Boeing's Mars puzzle:
MARS ASCENT VEHICLE (MAV)

The MAV is part integrated into into the center (propulsion) and top (control) of the Mars Lander. No details have been released other than the visual concept. The MAV docks with the Space Tug and the astronauts then hunker back down into their Space Habitat for the long ride back to Earth's orbit. The final stage is the undocking of Dragon MPCV for its decent back to Earth and an ocean recovery.

The book of Ezekiel is one of the major prophetic books of the Old Testament and in the book itself says the described events occurred between 593-571 BC.
It's one of the most famous examples of prophets in the past encountering extraterrestrials thats documented in the bible. I'm gonna quote a few lines and let them speak for themselves: "[...] the heavens were opened and I saw visions of god" (1,1) "[...] I saw a windstorm coming out of the north - an immense cloud with flashing lightning and surrounded by brilliant light. The center of the fire looked like glowing metal." (1,4) "And in the fire was what looked like four living creatures[...]" (1,5) "As I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground [...] Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel." (1,16) "Their rims were high and awesome , and all four rims were full of eyes all around" (1,17) "Spread out above the heads of the living creatures was what looked something like a vault [...] under the vault their wings were stretched out one towards the other" (1,22-23) "I heard the sound of their wings, like the roar of rushing waters" (1,24) "Above the vault [...] was what looked like a throne of lapis lazuli and [...] on the throne was a figure like that of a man" (1,26) "From [...] his waist up he looked like glowing metal [...] and that from there down he looked like fire" (1, 27)

rocketstarspace Boeing's MARS LANDER:

A key part of Boeing's 2014 vision to satisfy for NASA's round-trip manned mission to Mars "in the mid-2030's". The Mars Lander is transported from just beyond Earth's orbit by a solar electric powered Space Tug, which is also carrying an inflatable Space Habitat and Dragon MPCV spacecraft for the seven month journey.

The Mars Lander undocks from the Space Tug and makes it's descent to the Martian surface. An inflatable heat shield is deployed and later jettisoned above the surface, allowing small jets on the Mars Lander to execute a pinpoint landing on Martian soil. Since the astronauts will be living on Mars for the better part of a year until favorable planetary alignment signals departure time, an inflatable habitat (likely supplied by Bigelow Space Industries) is incorporated on to the Lander for life support and living quarters. Gradually, over time and successive missions, a Mars Base is established, laying a foundation for the inevitable future colonization Mars.

RocketStar's series presents Boeing's six major pieces to the Mars puzzle. Previously, we have posted details on the SLS, Orion MPCV, solar-powered Space Tug and inflatable Space Habitat. Today, we have the fifth and penultimate module, our favorite, the MARS LANDER.

The Mars Lander is incorporated into the Space Tug (along with a Habitat and a docked Dragon MPCV). The Mars Lander undocks from the Space Tug and makes it's descent to the Martian surface. At the appropriate altitude, an inflatable heat shield is deployed and later jettisoned above the surface, allowing the Mars Lander to use small powerful jets to execute a pinpoint landing on the Martian surface.

  •   rocketstarspace We've thought about creating a New Space R&D Lab that would be owned as a Coop by several smaller entrepreneurial companies who pool resources, expertise and knowledge into a XeroxParc-style lab. Each company would share appropriately, based on participation level, in any and all inventions that come out of the group. Specific pre-approved paths of experimentation, research and prototype development would be focused on four general areas: Experience Design, Tools & Instruments, Colonization Technology, and Integrative Technologies. The goal is rapid prototype development, leading to patentable inventions. @astro.luke 4d

Our series is presenting Boeing's six major pieces to the Mars puzzle. Previously, we posted the SLS, Orion MPCV and a solar-powered Space Tug. Today, we have the fourth part of Boeing's puzzle, an inflatable SPACE HABITAT.

The inflatable Space Habitats from Bigelow Space Industries would be ideal for this and would mean Boeing wouldn't have to reinvent the wheel, so to speak. Bigelow's transit habitats are made from a proprietary layering of Kevlar, carbon fibre and a space age resin. Water is pumped in between the layers to provide extra protection from harmful radiation. Bigelow habitats have proven stronger, lighter, more durable, cheaper and more protective than the aerospace-grade aluminum used for the ISS.

After Dragon docks with the solar-powered Space Tug, the seven month journey to Mars begins in earnest. An inflatable Space Habitat (or two) attached to the Space Tug house the astronauts and provide extensive life support systems for them, providing much more comfort for the long journey than than the Dragon MPCV can provide.

the_ancientalien_question The giant flying turtles of Guatemala

What you can see above is, as you can see, a clay figure of a man’s head sticking out of a turtle’s shell. Several figures like that were excavated in Guatemala but their age is unknown (or I was simply not able to find it on the internet). We do know that humans already started settling down in the region where this artifact was found about 14,000 years ago though! The locals’ legends say that those figures portray the “giant flying turtles” in which the gods once roamed the skies. The people who once crafted these figures weren’t stupid. They knew what a normal turtle looked like because in the same area artifacts of perfectly normal looking turtles have been excavated as well. And the one you can see on the photo for sure is NOT an ordinary turtle. Ordinary turtles have a pattern on their shells and also their extremities aren’t pressed against the shell like that. This could of course also be artistic freedom. I don’t want to go out on a limp. We could discuss about if the man inside the turtle is wearing goggles or if the fact that the turtle’s extremities are pressed against its body shall symbol an aerodynamic form but the most striking thing to me is the legend itself. The people back then for sure had more important things to do than just inventing a legend. And since a term like “aircraft” wasn’t known to them they searched for a comparison. And if the craft had a turtle-like shape why shouldn’t it be legit to call it a flying turtle? The other aspect that clearly shows we’re dealing with misinterpreted technology is of course that the legend says the “gods” were “inside the turtles” which of course wouldn’t be possible if it was a real turtle. You guys aren’t dumb so I actually wouldn’t even need to write all that down because you can use your brains yourselves but I don’t want to just post a picture and say “hey look, it’s another proof for ancient aliens”.
