the_holocaust_chronicle Nazi scientists developed this kit, which contained 29 samples of human hair. The samples were used by geneticists, anthropologists, and doctors to determine ancestry. Hair color also became a means to prove the supposed superiority of Aryans and the inferiority of Jews, Gypsies, and those of Àmixed breeds #nazi #scientists #hair #genetics #anthropology #doctor #ancestry #aryans #jews #gypsies #nazi #germany #Berlin #nuremberg #german #jewish #jewishholocaust #history #holocaust #chronicle #ww2 #WWII #war #jew #israel 6h

northeasternnautical My 11th Great Grandfather Stephen Hopkins, the only Mayflower passenger who had previous experience in the New World. He had left England in 1609, along with the new governor of Jamestown, Virginia, Sir Thomas Gates, when the ship they were on the "Sea Venture", was wrecked in a storm and the crew left stranded on Bermuda. They sent some men on a small boat to Jamestown for help, but they were never seen again. By January of 1610, Hopkins began to question Gates' authority, and was then arrested, charged with mutiny, found guilty, and sentenced to death. Many of the crew members, however, spoke up on his behalf, and he was eventually pardoned. Soon the crew constructed boats, and left for Jamestown, arriving 11 days later. In 1614 Hopkins returned to England after recieving news that his wife, Mary (my 11th great grandmother), who had been left to keep a shop while her husband was away, had died. Hopkins took care of his children, and eventually remarried before taking his family to the New World to start over again. William Shakespeare first presented “The Tempest” in November 1611, which is about a group of passengers being shipwrecked by a mighty storm. A subplot involves a character which could have been based on Stephen Hopkins. Hopkins was quite the adventurer, with quite the story! #newengland #massachusetts #genealogy #ancestry #family #history 8h

fitness_guru I'm proud to be a black man. But I'm proud of my ancestry. When you know your ethnic makeup, you can pinpoint why uou like certain foods, music, why you're so damn crazy. You can understand your body type better, your emotional and physical attraction, among other things. Ppl have a mid perception that hair and skin color are suppose to be consistent with being multiracial. That's deception #knowyourhistory #ancestry #igottalotofshitgoinOn #haiti #barbadian #scottish #nativeamerican 14h

andrewmax89 I am only going to explain this once because I feel like no one understands still... When you are labeled as Hispanic/latino, it is not actually a race. If you look at the picture above️, it is a break down of my race. I will explain this to everyone in the most simple terms that I hope you all can comprehend. When Puerto Rico was founded, not all the Taino Natives, indigenous peoples, were killed. The men were mostly killed and the spaniards raped the women. A significant amount of Taino blood lives among the Puerto Rican population. This is where the Native American comes in on my genetics test. Yes, almost all the natives of the Americas have the same DNA markers. They are just like the natives in North America. The reason the natives of Puerto Rico are not acknowledged is because they assimilated into the Spanish culture. In America, all the natives were segregated. There is a greater acknowledgment because of how they were kept separated from the Europeans and had their land stolen. When I say I am half Puerto Rican, it does not mean anything about my race. All it says is that my father came from that island. It is just like saying I am American. It does not specify my race whatsoever. This is what it means to be Latino/Latina. You are a mix of the races. Latin America is a true melting pot. America was always segregated. It is a tossed salad. There is a blend, but you still see areas of pure bred, unmixed people. Ok now, as for the African. Just like America, Puerto Rico brought slaves to the country as well. Slavery became illegal, and then the slaves just assimilated into the culture as well. Only in America, race was such a big issue and more segregation occurred. As for the Pacific Islander, who knows, people just ended up on the island. I know that my mother is italian, Irish and english, so that ended up on there as well. In conclusion , I think everyone should get a genetics test done. Get educated and know what you roots mean. Without your grandparents and great grandparents you would not be who you are today. I only wish that I could have met all mine #getedcuated #ancestry #puertorican #dna #taino 14h

lalune59 My family are Polish that's why hitler forced them out of their castle in Meissen and estate in Dresden.
My mum said they hid in the chicken coops before my grandfather who was ?a spy got them out. (To scotland where put in an internment camp west I scotland so half o that generation born in Germany half scotland)

I was told our family married into Hindenburg and out crest was theirs
On researching very much doubt that one could find any story of its origins.
Or
It is quite possible that a later Polentz was granted a title for distinguished military service but marriage not causing the marshalling of two arms in one shield, in general --- though, it may, in particular circumstances.
Anyway Hindenburg has quite different arms apparently.
Another theory was won in battle and made into baron

Noted in Siebmachers (collection of searchable images from vast 19th C. collections called Siebmachers)
places Polentz among the nobility of Meissen --- thus, Saxon. Von Polentz is of the "Uradel" (ancient nobility). They bore these arms, likely before 1450, and there is not likely to be evidence of any grant from a sovereign. I don't know about him but my great great great... Was Contessa (baroness) Petreushka von Polentz I remember a photo of her with that name on the back and again In a family portrait of the steps of schloss bieberstein

That's all I № I'm not a royalist only one in my family but I am intrigued
So if anyone knows of my family please let me №
