assassinscreed_fan_brotherhood Ratonhnhaké:ton or Connor kenway

Ratonhnhaké:ton (1756 – unknown), often known by the adopted name of Connor, was a Master Assassin of the Colonial Brotherhood of Assassins during the period of the American Revolutionary War. Born into the Kanien'kehá:ka tribe, he is an ancestor of Desmond Miles, through the paternal line. "I realize now that it will take time, that the road ahead is long and shrouded in darkness. It is a road that will not always take me where I wish to go – and I doubt I will live to see it end. But I will travel down it nonetheless."―Ratonhnhaké:ton, 1783.

prongedandpointed I've been swamped with work lately, so here's a pic of what I've been doing... Sort of. Can you tell my class's focus?
#johnnytremain has split my class. We're only a few chapters in, but I have 2 students who already love it, 2 who loudly profess their hatred, and some others in the middle. #cantpleasethemall.
What is the worst book you were forced to read in school? The best?
P.S. If anyone knows a silversmith that could speak/video chat with my class... I'd be eternally grateful. There are none in our area.
P.P.S. The random science book was a Christmas gift from a friend, & I was too excited about it to leave it out.

  •   wovenmagicbooks My mom's a teacher too! I usually hated books I had to read for school. The worst was Lord of the Flies. I had nightmares! 1w
  •   bardbooks Wow, Johnny Tremain ... that's going back a ways in my memory banks. 1w
  •   prongedandpointed @wovenmagicbooks Cool! I liked most of them, except Hatchet. I loved Lord of the Flies, but don't hold it against me. 1w
  •   prongedandpointed @bardbooks Haha, yeah. I remember reading it when I was in middle school. I try to alternate between older books/classics and more modern reads as I'm planning for the year. 1w

jaquita_brown Yorktown Victory Monument

Yorktown is most famous as the site of thesiege and subsequent surrender of GeneralCornwallis to General George Washington and the French Fleet during the American Revolutionary War on October 19, 1781. Although the war would last for another year, this British defeat at Yorktown effectively ended the war. Yorktown also figured prominently in the American Civil War (1861–1865), serving as a major port to supply both northern and southern towns. #yorktown #yorktownbattlefields #historicbattlegrounds #history #americanrevolutionarywar #revolutionarywar

danaconroy The oldest bank building in America, the First Bank of the United States in Philadelphia, built in 1791 in what was then the nation's Capitol. Alexander Hamilton came up with the concept of the bank to help the new U.S. government handle the massive war debt, and unify its currency, since each state had its own money. The architecture of the moonlit neo-classical beauty was chosen to model the democracy and beauty of Ancient Greece. #philadelphia #PA #bank #money #history #AmericanRevolutionaryWar #moon #FirstBankOfTheUnitedStates #AlexanderHamilton #Hamilton 3w

hopesewell Love having several antiqued replicas of important American documents and currency. It makes studying this time period so much more real and fun. Hopefully we can see the real thing some day. #independence #americanrevolutionarywar #homeschoolmom 3w
