ig_ballet_class Oh the classic but difficult to master ASSEMBLE ... The diagram at the bottom is a great visualisation of the entry and landing of an assemble over, but it completely skips the highlight of the jump! The picture above highlights the stunning moment when the legs should assemble into fifth, mid air - not just in the landing! #amazingassembles 1d

ig_ballet_class #passé #retire ️ How high should your passé be? The answer will vary depending on where you are in the world, and the method you study. In my experience, the toe should touch (not rest!) on the top of the inside of the supporting knee. There are two reasons for this: 1. It creates the illusion of a longer leg. And 2. A higher passé forms a stronger base for pirrouettes. So today, I prefer passé B, because it is higher (without being too high!) and the working foot is on the SIDE of the supporting leg, but the front. Never over cross your passé! 1d
