haileeybrianna Spicy orange and lime Mediterranean lentil salad I figured lentils would be the perfect food to consume after a day and a half of juicing since they are high in fiber, protein, iron and folate. Plus they are low in fat!.. Which gave me some leniency to use avocado oil in the dressing haha {avocado oil, squeezed lime and orange juice, apple cider vinegar, water, fresh garlic, agave, Himalayan salt, and black pepper} In the salad {Green lentils, cucumber, various types of tomatoes, onion, green onion, purple cabbage, and hot chilli flakes} So satisfying! 1d

thenutritionescapades Sprouting!!! I ️ sprouts, and yes that is a piece of dulse floating in there (thanks for noticing). Apparently during the soaking stage a piece of dulse adds even more nutrients to these beautiful likely powerhouses!! Did I mention I love sprouts? #100happydays 1d

  •   thenutritionescapades @compassionatepaws they are so easy. You can buy packs of sprout mixes at most grocery stores/organic food section. In this pic is mung beans in one and a lentil mix in the other. Soak in filtered water overnight, then rinse and drain the water and place the jar upside down in a bowl on a slight angle so the rest of the water drips out. Just leave them like that. 2-3 times a day repeat the rinse and drain process (emptying the water each time.) A mesh screen or cheese cloth over the top makes this easier. In 3-5 days you have yummy sprouts that are sooo nutritious. 1d

jilluminate_your_life Sometimes we focus so much on what we shouldn't eat we don't pay enough attention to what we SHOULD be eating everyday. I made a super morning protein shake. This shake included my raw vegan protein powder from @sunwarriortribe to fuel my body after a long nights sleep, goji berry powder which has been used in Chinese medicine for 5,000 years. Goji powder contains 18 kinds of amino acids including all 8 essential amino acids, 21 trace minerals, high amounts of antioxidants, iron, B, E, and A vitamins. It also contained a tbsp of sunflower seed butter and a tbsp of flax seeds which are rich in fiber and antioxidants. The flax seeds also provide me with my body's needed omega 3 fatty acids. The smoothie also included kale which is a great source of alkaline minerals, contains some of the best fiber, has calming, anti stress properties, and is a wonderful source of iron. A banana which is a wonderful carb for your body because the fructose contained in a banana does not spike your insulin levels and gets digested rather slowly. Bananas keep you full and are Perfect for. Breakfast smoothie. Last but not least is the coconut milk base, coconut milk has a medium chain of fatty acids which aid in weight loss, improve immune function, reduce heart disease and improves the skin and hair. As the first thing I've had today I would have to say I did a wonderful job of making sure this was something I SHOULD be consuming 2d

So what do you do with all that leftover pulp from juicing (any kind of vegetable)? Make burgers out if them of course! I've made beet burgers before, but these by FAR are the best yet! You MUST try!!! The texture The flavor The look....well, I hade to do a double take to make sure it wasn't meat

3 cups loosely packed beet pulp (after juicing)
3/4 cup sweet potato mash (after steaming them)
Spices of choice
Mix all ingredients and form into burger patties. Heat a pan with coconut oil and cook on both sides until a little charred and crispy on each side. *Can also be served raw
