ewanyoga Day 29 of #backbend365 and dropping a pose without too much warm up to see where my mobility is at. Flexibility I tend to attrtibute to being fully warmed up and in a heated room, but today I wanted to see what kind of opening I had started to create in body. I was really happy with how open my chest have become over the last 29 days. From all the handstands my shoulders had become quite clogged up and tight so to be able to now work on releasing them makes me feel like I have so much space in body again. melaniethue @beachyogagirl asked us what we are afraid of. In my asana practice, it's definitely Urdhva Dhanurasana.
I might look calm and peaceful in this picture but even setting up for wheel pose is a struggle for me.
Everytime I practice the ashtanga primary series I tell myself I don't have to do this pose. It's okay. No one will force me. But then I do it anyway. Every single time. I'm sure I'll get more comfortable in my backbends with time:). #aloWYPnofear @beachyogagirl @aloyoga. Get over your fears and make space for growth

  •   gavincjsmith Rather than have the arms move from the chest all the way overhead in a quick movement, try to slow it down. So very slowly work the hands up the chest to neck, nose forehead, then fully extended and hang for a bit then land softly all the while driving the hips forward and lifting through the chest, hope any of that helps @janeleeyoga 17h

  •   itsyogilixious @janeleeyoga try keeping your feet where they are and keep walking your hands in til maximum capacity. When u drop back, keep your chest lifted and keep bending until u see the floor then release your hands. You can rock your hips back and forth and use momentum to come up 10h
