linepeace Astronomers using data from NASA's Kepler mission have discovered a planetary system of five small planets dating back to when the Milky Way galaxy was a youthful two billion years old. The tightly packed system, named Kepler-444, is home to five small planets in very compact orbits. The planets were detected from the dimming that occurs when they transit the disc of their parent star, as shown in this artist's conception.

  •   deutschbag05 @nickie_t You're under the mistaken impression that evolution follows a set path and is constant. Things don't evolve to "become better," they evolve to adapt. Fish don't really have to evolve much in order to adapt (that's why all fish look like fish), and if a species hasn't changed in 400 million years, then it's successful and doesn't have to evolve much. But that's okay, you keep believing your book written back when people pooped in the mud, which says that it was okay for 900-year-old men to sell their daughters into slavery and all that fun stuff! 47s
