The "Address at Rice University on the Nation's Space Effort", or better known simply as the "We choose to go to the moon" speech, was delivered by U.S. President John F. Kennedy in front of a large crowd gathered at Rice Stadium in Houston, Texas on September 12, 1962. It was one of Kennedy's earlier speeches meant to persuade the American people to support the national effort to land a man on the Moon and return him safely to the Earth.

Lunar Launch - Engineering Design Process

Explore force and motion; Newton's Third Law: Action - Reaction, investigate potential and kinetic energy associated with rockets and the groovy history of the Apollo 11 mission -  the first lunar landing of the lunar module "Eagle" in 1969 - and much, much more. Acquire various science and engineering practices aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards. Groovy Lab in a Box is hands-on STEM, project based learning made FUN!

Rockets take people, spacecrafts and payload into space. On 16 July 1969, the Saturn V rocket launched astronauts Neil Armstrong, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, Michael Collins, the Eagle spacecraft, and groovy payload onward to the Moon. The Apollo 11 mission was the first to perform a manned lunar landing and return to Earth successfully.
