campo.reviews The Amazing Spider-Man 2 where do I start, first of all its not all that amazing they should rename it the mediocre spider man 2. it's not that this movie's horrible because it's not, well actually it is but i still think its better than Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3, its definitely worse than its predecessor. But it has its moments mostly between Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield their chemistry is basically all this movie has going for it. This movie decently entertaining, good action scenes but not enough of them though with a very non epic final battle. I liked the introduction of all the new characters, and I like the idea of where it's going as a series but this movie just felt like a 2 hour filler to prepare us for what is next to come or at least a universe they were "trying" to set up. I mean I've seen a lot worse movies as far as superhero/comic movies go, so I'm not even gonna hate as hard as i want too, I just expected a lot more as far as comparing it to other superhero movies that marvels pumping out recently down at Disney. They put out an amazing new captain America movie with winter soldier and Fox did it with X-Men Days Of Future Past, this movie is no where in their ball park but it's good enough for a one time watch just at laugh at the cheese factor acting job from OSCAR winner Jamie Foxx who gives us one of the worst performances of his career playing a lesser version of Jim Carrey's Riddler from Batman Forever its almost not watchable, Dane DeHaan is also frigin terrible playing a worse version of the same role he plays in Chronicle, and dont even get me started of the phoned in cameo by Paul Giamatti, who even admitted he thought the role was a joke. Another thing I'm tired of with spider man in general is the teen angst if I wanted to watch Breakfast Club I would watch Breakfast Club. I'm also tired of how all the characters come off as awkward losers that just don't fit in. and for god sake I wanna see some blood enough with the pg ratings even the comics are more graphic then the movies.
anyways.
5 out of 10 if anything at all because it was a cheese watch

cinemayhem My Saturday reviews will most likely be spoiler reviews, heads up. This is one of them:
(500) Days of Summer (2009): Expectations vs. Reality is one of the biggest themes, also being one of my favorite scenes in the film. Tom is the character that needs to be grounded to the... Well... ground, while Summer is too grounded. While they don't end up together, they both taught each other all they could within the 500 days. Expectations vs. Reality is the perfect scene because our expectations never measure up to reality, and Tom's expectations were beyond reality, so that reality compared to his expectations was the world closing in on him. Throughout the movie we are shown Tom's point of view in how he perceives love, which is the most clichéd way possible, being subjected to so much media, where everyone belongs to someone, this film takes this idea and has fun with it. With the exception of jumping ahead of days, we are shown all the signs of the outcome, like how she says it upfront and we see her look away when he gets emotional, not to say she doesn't have these moments, but through the perspective of Tom, it is thrown way out of proportion. The Graduate is Tom's favorite film, which is very ironic, seeing it is the polar opposite of Tom's personality (if this sounds familiar), the moment he shows Summer this film is the moment of realization that she doesn't want to end up stuck in an unhappy relationship. I think this is one of the best and most grounded romantic/comedies I've seen, now let's talk about the ending, as cheesy as it may be, I still love it. After seeing Summer for the last time, both moving on to their new lives, during a job interview, Tom meets a woman who is also competing for the job. Well, after Summer comes Fall, so this woman's name is Autumn, showing that after Summer, life continues and a new day is to come. Pretty corny, but it does make me feel good about this film.

perpetualwords1 Summer Finn only loved two things: the first, was her long dark hair; the second, was how easily she could cut it off… and feel nothing. (500) Days of Summer (2009)

thelordofmoo TOP 3 IN CINEMOO #25: Spider-Man Movies

#Top3CineMOO

Bronze: The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

Silver: Spider-Man (2002)

Gold: Spider-Man 2 (2004)

The only reason 'The Amazing Spider-Man' was made was because Sony needed to put a Spider-Man movie out before the rights reverted back to Marvel. However, there was definitely some good that came out of this 2012 reboot. For one thing, the chemistry between Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone is much better than anything we got with Tobey Maguire and Kristen Dunst, the visual effects look better, which is kind of a given, and just the overall depiction of the wall-crawler himself.

And while I think the reboot had a better Spider-Man, the original had a better Peter Parker, a much more memorable villain, and a far superior score, composed by Danny Elfman. Plus, you can't beat Cliff Robertson as Uncle Ben. The new one tried to recapture the whole "with great power comes great responsibility" moment, but, I'm sorry, it failed. Is the 2002 version cheesy at times? Yes. Is it dated? Yes, it is. But it's still damn good.

But it's not number one... Spider-Man 2 is not only the best of the Spider-Man films, but it's one of the best superhero films out there. Sure it doesn't have the fun of The Avengers or the maturity of The Dark Knight, but it does have a whole lot of heart with themes that anyone can relate to. The problem with 2014's The Amazing-Spiderman 2 is not that it had too many subplots, but how it handled them. Sam Raimi's second Spider-Man had just as many subplots, the only difference is that it juggled them all perfectly, from the central plot drive revolving around Doc Ock, the romance with Mary Jane, his on-going guilt over Uncle Ben's death, Harry's hatred of Spiderman, and the identity crisis within Peter Parker.

What do you guys think of my picks? Do you agree? Did I miss something? What’s your favourite?
