lucid_dreaming_101 So in MILD part 1 I covered the 1st two steps. So here I'll cover the second two.

Lucid Affirmations: This will be performed as you lay in bed at night going to sleep. You will simply chant a mantra in your head or out loud that reinforces your intention to become lucid.
Examples:
*Tonight, I will realize I'm dreaming
*I'm a lucid dreamer *I have conscious dreams easily
*Tonight in my dreams, I will remember I am dreaming.
*Tonight I will become lucid
Do this for 5- 10 minutes, or longer if you like.
Keep it short & sweet. the point is to prime ur brain to become lucid. But don't just repeat it mechanically. Actually let the feeling sink in that you will become lucid and feel it. And truly expect it to work.

Visualize your dream: This will be performed after the affirmations. Simply imagine or picture in your mind that you are back in a recent dream. Picture it playing out just like it did in the dream, but at the end, see yourself realizing that it's all a dream. And let that feeling sink in. Repeat this for 5 minutes.

lucid_dreaming_101 The mnemonic induced lucid dream technique or MILD is generally considered to be one of the best ways to have lucid dreams. It is said that beginners are quite successful with this technique. It's effective and pretty simple. There are 4 steps.

1. Dream Recall
2. Reality Checks
3. Lucid Affirmations
4. Visualize your dream

You should already have a decent dream recall before you start trying any lucidity techniques.(Recalling at least one dream per night) If you don't then you can improve your dream recall by keeping a dream journal, which I wrote a tutorial on in one of my first few posts. If you don't remember dreams, you're less likely to become lucid in them. Plus, you may not remember your lucid dream even if you have one!
For step 2, you should do at least 10 reality checks a day (preferably more)

Learning how to lucid dream is like any other skill that you develop over time. There is no #magic secret but there are a number of tried-&-tested methods that you can employ.
Below I’ve listed a number of those techniques to get you started.

20 Ways to Have Lucid Dreams

1. Start a dream journal & write down at least 1 dream every morning.
2. Do a dozen reality checks each day – such as trying to push your hand through a wall & asking “Am I dreaming?”
3. Perform a daily 10-minute breathing meditation & examine your self-awareness as you become sensitive to your surroundings.
4. Listen to calming music during afternoon naps & early morning meditation.
5. Learn to interpret your dreams & record key recurring themes.
6. Supercharge your dream intensity & dream recall with lucid dream supplements like Galantamine or Choline.
7. Experiment with a dream herb like Calea Z for vivid & memorable dreams.
8. Take afternoon naps if you can.
9. Set at least three clear lucid dream intentions before you go to sleep.
10. Observe your own hypnagogic hallucinations as you drift off to sleep.
11. Make a dream pillow filled with aromas that promote relaxation while you sleep.
12. Rid yourself of any sleep disorders which disturb your quality of REM sleep.
13. Listen to a lucid dreaming hypnosis session as you go to sleep to place targeted auto-suggestions in your unconscious mind.
