sebbyskywalker "Don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry"
That line is not in the movie but who cares because this is probably the only Hulk movie we're gonna get for a very very VERY long time.
I swear to God Marvel must not give a shit about the Hulk enough to give him another movie.
Some people have said that if you take this movie out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe it won't affect the continuity of the series.
While that might be true, it still helps to have this movie in here.
If you ask me, The Incredible Hulk is the most underrated Marvel movie ever!
Its kinda like Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith in a way.
Yea it might not be the best film in the franchise and it pales in comparison to the others, but it still happened, its still canon and it helps to keep this movie in here.
I hate to compare a good Marvel movie to a Star Wars prequel but its the best comparison I could think of cuz I think both Incredible Hulk and Revenge of the Sith are VERY underrated.
But in case you don't have any working brain cells, I'll explain the story of the Hulk.
Dr. Bruce Banner was just minding his own business one day until he decided to test a ridiculous amount of gamma radiation on himself.
In the real world, you would get bone cancer but since this is a comic book movie, this is simply just a bad day in the life of Bruce Banner cuz the experiment didn't go as planned.
Now due to the gamma radiation, whenever Banner gets mad he Hulks out and becomes a giant green rage monster.
The Hulk is pretty much the textbook case of having some really bad anger issues.
Me personally, I think the Hulk is a VERY underrated superhero.
Not only is he the Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde of this modern era but he's one of the most layered and compelling characters in the Marvel Universe.
When most people, and by most people I mean the general populous AKA the non-comic book fans look at the Hulk, all they see is just a man with some serious anger issues and a mindless beast.
Even though he becomes absurdly powerful, he's still a flawed man.
The guy tore Wolverine in half and was the sole survivor of a nuclear war and was pleading with the Hulk to let him die.

  •   sebbyskywalker So if you think that Banner and The Hulk are two different people, NOT TRUE!!!!
Here you see that even though when Banner gets pissed off, this thing inside him takes control, he and The Hulk are still one and the same.
As Pink Floyd once said "they're just two lost souls swimmin' in a fish bowl".
This movie totally ditches the origin story and puts you right in the thick of it.
The origin story is there but it is briefly explained in the opening credits giving this movie a lot of breathing room to do whatever the hell it wants.
The problem with making a Hulk movie is that you can do it one of two ways.
You can either focus in the humanity of Bruce Banner which if done right could be great, if not then it'll just be boring and we'll just be waiting for him to Hulk up and destroy everything.
Or you can decide to make it simply all about the Hulk which if done poorly will be just a huge CGI mess.
This movie is in my opinion the perfect way to make a Hulk movie.
It balances out the screen time between The Hulk and Bruce Banner perfectly.
You see how vulnerable Bruce Banner has become because The Hulk is constantly inside him waiting to be unleashed but you see that a piece of him still lies within The Hulk while he's out there smashing anything that moves.
This movie starts off with the origin story briefly explained in the opening credits and we jump to see him hanging out in the favelas in Brazil as he tries to deal with the monster inside him.
And Edward Norton does an excellent job as Bruce Banner.
He's so good in this movie that I almost wish they hadn't recast him with Mark Ruffalo.
Don't get me wrong, I love Ruffalo and his Hulk, but I feel like if they didn't recast Ed Norton or just started out with Ruffalo in the first place then this movie wouldn't be as irrelevant as people make it seem.
Which is sad because this movie has a lot of nuances and references to the Marvel Universe hidden throughout this movie. 56min
  •   sebbyskywalker So what makes this movie so good and underrated:
The writing and dialogue between the characters is just perfect,
The characters themselves are great, even Liv Tyler who pretty much does nothing still manages to be that thing that motivates Banner,
And the action is FUCKING ASTONISHING!!!!!
Just watching The Hulk throw a bunch of small human beings around like frisbees is ridiculous entertaining and I love it.
And a great addition to this movie is Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky.
Emil Blonsky who is so jealous of Banner's power eventually becomes the Abomination in order so he can fight the Hulk head on in what is pretty much Marvel's version of Godzilla vs. King Kong.
What other superhero movie can you think of where the hero and the villain fight mano a mano for 20 minutes?
Man of Steel?.....Ok you win but this movie made it look awesome!
If you ask me, this is the definitive Hulk movie.
It's Marvel's most underrated movie and about as good a Hulk movie as we are eve going to get for the next 15 years at least cuz apparently Marvel doesn't love their own Hulk.
Ed Norton, Mark Ruffalo, fucking Lou Ferrigno, it doesn't matter who your favorite Hulk is because this one's mine.
I will always have a place in my heart for this movie because this movie needs some love!
And honestly, the more I think of seeing The Hulk fight the Iron Man Hulkbuster suit in Age of Ultron just gives me CHILLS!!!
But until then, what else can I say except that.... The Incredible Hulk is...
    Worth Full Price (82%)
SO WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THIS MOVIE???? 56min
