Lamb Of God are an American Metal band from Richmond, Virginia that were formed in 1994 known as Burn The Priest. They've produced their fourth full length and possibly my favorite album in their catalog titled "Sacrament. After establishing themselves as one of the most promising and talented active bands throughout the 2000's, Lamb Of God concentrated really hard to expand their sound and no doubt Sacrament takes several musicial strides and directions with sound more restrained and guitar riffs aren't meaty or constant throughout Chris Adler's stunning double bass drumming occasionally sprouts up. Sacrament also has greater Black Metal influences with the production sounding much darker and frontman Randy Blythe's singing is wicked, presentable and sheiks with absolute terror at finest. The opening track Walk With Me In Hell features non stop bursting double kick drums and chilling whispers but still very experimental and what we're used hearing. Then onwards we have Again We Rise, Redneck and Blacken The Cursed Sun with muscular and propulsive punching riffs, Southern grooves and nearly daring to a Pantera esque supersonic assaults of catchy leads and various hooks. Sacrament is Lamb Of God's own version of the popular 1988 Slayer album South Of Heaven with bit of melody and harmony sequences thumping the slower songs and capturing the successful sound this particular albums has. Their natural characteristics and growth can be rather improving noticeablely especially the solos department with organic creativity and anger misanthropic anti establishments are above-mentioned standard and showing signs of greater achievements. Sacrament by Lamb Of God is a diabolical album showing maturity, heaviness and catchiness all spreaded into one memorable sequence that is additionally a long lived metal album for decades to come. If you enjoyed previous material by Lamb Of God, then I advise Sacrament be your time and patience to get their fundamentals down.
