resetbttn From the #trails to the #rails. I started in riding downtown #Austin and ended up at #BartonSprings. When you aimlessly wander it's amazing what you'll find. #IwillBeBack

nightiscometh Philosophers Rock #ZilkerPark #Zilker #Austin #Texas #art #Sculpture #BartonSprings #pool #Men #discuss #travel It was already sundown, so this photo was hard to capture, so I took 2 photos and sort of put them together here. It is a nice sculpture. Children play on it, not really caring what it is about. That is nice. They can make stuff up about it. 12h
  •   nightiscometh Glenna Goodacre's bronze sculpture of three of Austin's most recognized personalities from midcentury -- naturalist Roy Bedichek, raconteur J. Frank Dobie, and historian Walter Prescott Webb -- captures the essence of the three friends who used to chew the fat together at Barton Springs Pool. No heroic posing here: Two of the three are wearing bathing trunks, which reveal potbellies, wrinkles, and sagging muscles, and all three are sitting down in mid-discussion. The casual friendliness of the pose and the intelligence of the men's expressions have made this piece, installed in 1994, an Austin favorite. 8h
