susiebubble Anti fur protests lying down outside Prada. Note it is snowing and freezing cold. 2y
  •   pain_in_jane @kelly8884 You are recalling the 60's ? Lol, a few things changed in media ever since, in case if you haven't noticed. You simply dont get it. "meeting with a more intelligent lifeform" :))) None of these things matters. Get some insight in fashion business instead of science fiction, your good intentions does not worth a thing without. 2y
  •   kellyaleksandra @pain_in_jane Oh it doesn't matter?? It's called EMPATHY. You should try it sometime!! I went to school for apparel design and worked in the industry. Not that I need to justify my arguement to someone that doesn't have anything of substance to add to this conversation 2y
  •   susiebubble @kelly8884 with regards to your point about more intelligent life forms it's not quite an apt comparison. We as in humans are not bred to provide skin and bones. It's a hyper hyperthetical scenario that doesnt quite change the REAL state of what is going on in the fur industry. I am also not against protest of all forms. I protested myself agains tuition fees in the uk. I mean that in this instance anti fur antics have become ridiculed by both those that are pro fur and even those that are trying to create effectual change. Thirty years of protesting and what exactly has been achieved other than publications taking their own independent stances against fur and an industry that is actually thriving not diminishing. A change of strategy wouldn't hurt no? 2y
  •   pain_in_jane @susiebubble Exactly. 2y
  •   kellyaleksandra Yes the fur industry is not hurting. I will agree with that. The world population has also increased greatly. I would say compared to 50 years ago a lot has changed with regards to fur. Designers like Vivienne Westwood, Calvin Klein, Stella McCartney, etc. have stopped using fur because of animals rights organizations like this. Everyone used to own or wear fur. Since the beginning of our species we have been eating meat and wearing fur. It was also something that was a necessity. Just because we have been doing something for a long time doesn't mean we should keep doing it but this also makes it harder to change. I believe we are smart and intelligent creatures that will eventually see using animals frivolously as barbaric and primitive. I wish it it would change faster. Can you give me specific examples of ways to facilitate this change? I would love some suggestions of techniques that aren't already being use. If these people weren't being 'theatrical' would you have taken this picture? Bottom line is if you don't agree with the message you will always find a flaw in the argument 2y
