youssefsarhan Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand.

youssefsarhan The workout before the workout. 2am, on my way to the gym. Pulled over to help an old Nigerian taxi man change his tire, Chris. Of course, I made a joke about how we're both black now. We lol'd. 2w

youssefsarhan This is a perfect example of a dark pattern. The "TEAR HERE" seal is a 3rd of the way down the pack. For those wondering, a "dark pattern" is a design decision which intentionally encourages the user to do something which is not beneficial for them, but is for the business. In this case, the user is encouraged to eat more than they want, and then, ultimately buy a new pack sooner. 3w

youssefsarhan 1. Slice open the date. 2. Drop a single drop of honey. 3. Gently position a coriander (cilantro) leaf. 4. Insert almonds, and seal. Eat them on their own or with couscous, such a delicious treat. Try them. 4w

youssefsarhan I recall a herd of elephants on the horizon. "Can we see them up close?", I asked, "but we must be fast, the sun is going down", he replied. We approached, delicately, no engine.
They're migrating for the night, from #Zimbabwe to #Zambia, across the #Zambezi, the river we were cruising.

Poaching and wild game hunting is still facilitated in Zim, the elephants know this, painfully – they feel safer in Zambia at night. Later that night, as we slept on an island, I was woken to the sound of heavy grunting, guttural breathing, and tremendous feasting – I wandered out of the tent, and there she was, lit by a full moon, one of the elephants from the sunset. Munching, feeding, prospering, growing, living. It would make you cry. So beautiful, #cosmic.

Animals, all sizes and shapes, all over the world, including ourselves, wish to enjoy life, and create a better chance of pleasure for our offspring. To create, one day, heaven on earth. Killing them, so violently and egotistically, does not help anyone or anything. But perhaps, it does one good thing, it reaffirms our values, and saturates our conviction of what is beautiful and precious. #Cecil the lion is one, but there are many more.

I took this photo while visiting Zambia, and it breaks my heart to think one of these elephants may have been poached or shot since. You can read more about wildlife conservation here: http://wildcru.org/index.html It's a shame they don't have a mobile version of their website.
