ylmommyx4 12 rows of ribbing and it's feeling a little easier to handle. 2d
  •   sewpsychd 2d
  •   rstogether As a novice knitter, why is your stitch marker where it is? Are you using it, or is it just hanging out? Cute though. 1d
  •   ylmommyx4 @rstogether it's just marking the first side so I know where I started when it gets time to make the heel 1d
  •   ylmommyx4 @yarnink I'm loving this mint raspberry swirl yarn. 1d
  •   crazymomquilts It's looking good!! 1d
  •   ghgn09 I feel the same way. The first rows are difficult after that it gets fun. I love working w/ 5 needles 1d

ylmommyx4 Trying Double point needled for the first time. This seems really awkward compared to circular needles. Any helpful hints are gladly accepted. @susanbanderson 2d
  •   ilikeorangetoo It's easy to drop stitches or lose your place. Just make sure you know where you're at at all times and it will be fine. It gets easier as you keep going around. Bamboo is a bit easier with slippery yarns. 2d
  •   machenundtun It's just a bit weird in the beginning, it really gets better after a few rows. Always look carefully which needle you'll pull :-) 2d
  •   clcknits I have been knitting socks for over 15 years and the first couple of rounds are so awkward. Hang in there! 2d
  •   jackiesstitches Much less fiddly/faster than magic loop IMO. Fewer ladders too. 2d
  •   ylmommyx4 @jackiesstitches @clcknits @machenundtun @ilikeorangetoo @ellathrowawench thanks friends. I've finished 12 rows of ribbing and it's gotten less fiddley . 2d
  •   ylmommyx4 @needleandspatula @rstogether I've done 10 pairs on circular needles so I'm ready for a new challenge. I hear it's faster. I'll let you know. 2d
  •   sewpsychd As you go to a new needle, slip the last one under the end of the new one. Stays out of the way better. First stitch on the new needle, tighten up extra. It'll come out just right:). They are faster and once you get a rhythm of where you want the not in use needles to ride, really fun. Enjoy!! 2d
  •   trilliumdesign Try using 5 instead of 4 1d

ylmommyx4 @canadianabroad the price varies. This is about average on Amazon. 2d
  •   jenniferjohnston80 Part of the reason I don't spray baste is because of the insane price for this stuff in Canada. 2d
  •   canadianabroad @melrosecakes Did you see this? 2d
  •   ylmommyx4 @canadianabroad I think because it's made in France it's cheaper to import to you guys. 2d
  •   canadianabroad The things I didn't know. 2d
  •   ylmommyx4 @canadianabroad I just read the label. It's made in the UK. bingo! You win 2d
  •   canadianabroad Well there's something I really didn't know. I'll be looking at my tin when I get home just because I can. Thanks Di. 2d
  •   melrosecakes Free shipping generally only counts in the states. Usually $20.00 to ship anything to canada. I will look into that though. 2d
  •   melrosecakes I found one on Amazon for $15.50 Cdn plus $22.25 shipping 2d

ylmommyx4 Here's another first. I made the pumpkin pie filling and will freeze it until next week. Then @ylpaulo just has to thaw it and pour into a refrigerated pie crust and bake. #Thanksgiving 3d

ylmommyx4 This is a first for me. Unbaked Apple pie going into the freezer. To be baked next week for #Thanksgiving. Has anyone ever done this before? Hints for baking please. 3d
  •   canadianabroad I've got about six or seven now so that I can whack pies into the freezer come apple picking time. 3d
  •   teequilts I freeze my pie filling for the year and then defrost and throw it in a shell and bake. 3d
  •   sewpsychd Check out Americas test kitchen. They have a frozen blueberry pie and suggestions:) 3d
  •   ylmommyx4 @sewpsychd thank you 3d
  •   ylmommyx4 @teequilts that won't help this time. I've frozen the filling in the pastry. 3d
  •   aquilterstable Should be fine! 3d
  •   cancuncookies @ylmommyx4 Sorry for the late response... I use pie tins or disposables. Bake at 350. Put the mold in basket or ceramic base after baking it. I know it is not as nice as baking in a pretty dish, though. 2d
  •   ylmommyx4 @cancuncookies thanks 2d

ylmommyx4 I've got enough nut rolls for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and a funeral and few for gifts @gericentonze @brentstanley6 4d
  •   ylmommyx4 @modernquiltdesigns yes it is. Maybe that's why they're so good 4d
  •   ylmommyx4 @modernquiltdesigns oh I forgot to tell you I made 1.5 recipes of the dough and it yields 8 rolls with this amount of filling. 3d
  •   ylmommyx4 @modernquiltdesigns I edited my blog post. After reading that you asked about the sugar I looked at it again. Those were some notes I'd made and I think the recipe is better now. 3d
  •   modernquiltdesigns Thanks for the update. I'm shopping for ingredients this weekend, hopefully baking some next weekend! 3d
  •   valbetweenquilts @ylmommyx4 I am totally going to try your recipe and add this to our Christmas baking list! My MIL always buys some from women who bake them at her church- so yummy! Thanks for the recipe- it's the next best thing to making it with you 3d
  •   ylmommyx4 @valbetweenquilts the church ladies in Pennsylvania where I'm from, always make good authentic ones 3d
  •   katisquilting I was about to ask if you invited an army over for nut rolls :))) Yumm, will make them for Christmas! 3d

ylmommyx4 Today I found out my sweet Aunt Justine /godmother died at the age of 98. She has always been my model of how to be a patient, loving, Catholic woman. My parents made a great choice when they asked her to be my godmother. I learned so much from her example. She was one special lady and my Uncle Chey and cousin Mary Carol are having the best reunion right about now. 5d
