wowimcute 500lb yoke! @grazrubio challenged me to match his overhead yoke (which i can barely do without any plates) with a regular one, so i had to. the more friendly challenges the merrier. 18h

wowimcute 7x3 snatch with 115. practicing on repping them unbroken. Not too sure how much the yoke was but i put 25s on each side and went for 3 trips before adding a 150lb sandbag carry after each trip for 6 sets. First time using a yoke! got the squishy shoes on too because my left foot is messed up. they made deficit deadlifts feel that much more of a deficit. 7d

wowimcute Well, its official! I quit working at InShape. Wont get on too much of a tangent (Edit: i typed a lot), but i must say it feels weird leaving my first job. It was super fun for a long time, mainly because of all the people i got to help and meet at that gym. And then, things got weird. I ended up lasting longer than 6 managers, some tried to forge their certifications, others have never or barely even had a fitness background (except for @jesusgnzlz because he actually lifts and is hella smart), and now its been a normal thing to hear about people passing out/getting angry by people ABOVE me in the same department. Got told not to work the floor anymore, people were being hard-sold like crazy, and out of all the new people that bought training, i was given one client to work with! I was the only trainer available, where did the rest of the clients go?! Then one day i walked into my office and saw a sign on my file cabinet (which is the top picture) and that was the icing on the cake with my frustration.
Trainers (at least good ones) are not cheerleaders. They're not suppose to cheer you on as you mindlessly do a movement wrong and tell you its okay and pretend that there will be some sort of turnover. Trainers are there to let you know that, yes, there are many things wrong with your body that you have to fix, and we're gonna fix them methodically whether you catch on the first time or the 100th time. It will hurt, some days a good hurt, some days a bad hurt, many days you might be scared to come in, but it will happen because we both know it has to. There are no rainbows and butterflies during this process, no secrets or gimmicks, just work that has carryover to the client's goal, work that has carryover to what the client NEEDS but doesn't necessarily want, and continuous learning on both ends. By all means give positive feedback, but DONT be a cheerleader.

Word of advice for new trainers who actually aspire to make a difference (as im trying to as well): Use a globogym as a transitional phase. A place to practice your training, talk to as many people as you can and learn to love people before you get good enough to move to a legit strength and conditioning

wowimcute Two shots of Bird Dog Peach Whiskey before a max rep set of 405 on a deficit. a classic @mad_scientist_duffin move. Feeling sore from yesterday but wanted to get my lifts in real quick before the cleanup crew arrives. Also, ya gotta have fun with your training, right? Gonna start pulling with more volume for a few weeks until i go back to singles again. 1mon
