  •   wildvirtue I'm sick. Like yucky sad feel bad for me sick. Today I tried eating a bowl of Campbell's chicken soup with a soft boiled egg (eggs are so good for you!) but after 3 bites I just gave it to my dog. It tasted...fake? So instead I put 2 marrow and 1 knuckle bone in a croc pot for hourrrrs and then proceeded to make this delish, ferocious sickness killer here. I feel better already. Here's what's in it and why it helps your body heal and defend itself-
    Bone broth- bone broth provides a rich source of minerals and amino acids that basically supply the body with raw materials to rebuild stronger and healthier cells. It also boosts antioxidant activity in the body. Studies show consuming bone broth during a respiratory infection (Hi that's me) reduces the number of white blood cells, which are the cells that cause flu and cold symptoms. It's also been used in ancient Chinese medicine for quite some time to fight off infection.
    Ginger- I think ginger's most notable benefit today is its ability to soothe nausea and upset stomach. But it's also anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. If you're having trouble breathing and wheezing from congestion, you should be nomming on ginger in some form.
    Bacon fat- because it's delicious and you're sick so don't worry about it.
    Cabbage- Rich in iron and sulfur, it detoxifies the stomach and colon. Also in antioxidants + is antibacterial and anti-fungal. It's flavor when cooked is also beautiful.

    Cinnamon- (try it. Adding a little bit to your savory foods really gives it a delicious kick. Also, add a half cup of dark chocolate to your barbecue sauce. But I digress..) Cinnamon has sooo many benefits. Including but not limited to- increased blood circulation, which which significantly helps remove pain. It's antimicrobial, anti fungal, and anti-inflammatory. Great for colds and headaches.
    Beer- it will help make your soup taste awesome, promise.
    Quinoa- rich in protein, helps repair tissue, antioxidant, contains ALL amino acids, high in iron, magnesium, riboflavin and fiber. It also contains flavonoids, which combats cardiovascular issues and is anti- inflammatory. That's not even half of it. Eat well! 1mon
