wholesomecook Quiet Valentine's weekend celebrations with a surprise flower arrangement from Matty (by Xena from @usfinhair) and a dinner date that actually makes a difference last night at @bennelong_sydney supporting and giving to @thehungerprojectau via their A Table to End Hunger initiative. Such a great way to celebrate us by giving love and support to the passions and well-being of others. ️ The carrot and eggplant dishes were quite exceptional as is the chocolate cake from across the water... 19h

wholesomecook I love adding greens to my breakfast. It feels so incredibly good to start the day in the green, especially on weekends, as it leaves some room for a potential indulgence later on in the day. Mixed lettuce greens, turmeric chilli zucchini, beans, avo and haloumi. With a side of that whole rye bread, labneh and chives. 3d

wholesomecook Hello there new followers! I'd love to hear something about you and your passions - feel free to introduce yourself in the comments below. 😀 A bit more about me: I enjoy research, majority of my books and magazines are about food.
I cringe at food additives.
I’ve never been good at those “Tell us in 25 words or less” competitions. I've recently written, styled and shot @thewholesomecookbook. PS You can read all about my whole food philosophy, bioindividuality and what's in my kitchen thanks to this wonderful feature in @nourish_au - if you've missed the paper Jan Feb edition grab it through the Zinio app. Have a great weekend! 🙃 photo credit @ironchefshellie

  •   sammymccueeats PS In another spooky coincidence, my previous comment was 25 words. 1w
  •   wholesomecook @sammymccueeats haha! Thanks for saying hi and telling us about yourself. What you do sounds great! 1w
  •   wholesomecook @krystalklear90 thanks for your kind words Krystal! Liana (12) also loves the banana slice! Such a great recess snack. :-) 1w
  •   ironchefshellie Awesome! 1w
  •   bakedinmpls Hey there. We've been following you for some time now and find ourselves getting hungry and inspired every time we see a photo. We are a young couple currently residing in Minneapolis and are looking into the future to hopefully run a vegetarian/ vegan restaurant. We kinda like the idea of a healthy vegan "fast food" style restaurant. Mike is the genius behind all the cooking and I, Elise do most of the photography and I do all the baking. 1w
  •   wholesomecook @bakedinmpls wow! Hi guys, so nice to meet you! I love your idea - in fact we often order vegetarian and vegan dishes when eating out even at normal restaurants. They can be so delicious. Good luck with your plans and thanks for saying hi! 🏻 1w
  •   solidteknics Hi Martyna, love your work! We might be a bit like the kitchenware equivalent of you! We manufacture Australia's only production cookware, and our vision is to switch cooks from disposable synthetic-coated nonstick imports to Australian-made, multi-generation durable, naturally-seasoned iron and steel for healthy and forever-renewable nonstick. It's a mouthful but important to know Australian-made is now a very good option in the kitchen. Cheers! Mark. 2d

wholesomecook Saved from going to the garbage heap... Yesterday's lunch has two lots of leftovers in it: cooked carrot from the event at @aboutlifenm last Thursday and sweet potato wedges from an outing on Saturday. The grass-fed steak was also saved from the bin - a day before its use-by date and heavily reduced. Leftovers of all this stuff went into the kids' snacky lunchboxes today! So, tell me, do you bring food home in a doggy bag when eating out? I insist on it but some restaurants refuse for food safety reasons... That's so sad! 2w
  •   these_knees Yummy 2w
  •   carolinehind6 I always ask for a doggy bag, it's the best way to manage the crazy portion sizes that restaurants serve now. Luckily I haven't encountered any one that has refused to do it yet. 2w
  •   cheergermandthesillyyak Nice one! I always ask, I hate waste as well and often make some crazy dinner concoctions using remnants of veggies from the fridge crisper. 2w
  •   kikikbee Conveniently I have a child so always have Tupperware in my bag...win for taking food home the sneaky way! 1w
  •   wholesomecook @carolinehind6 you're right about portion sizes! We often share one meal between two, but sometimes when we order two there's just too much! 1w
  •   wholesomecook @belindajefferyfood thank you Belinda. It's such a simple thing to do. 1w
  •   wholesomecook @cheergermandthesillyyak haha! Same same. Soups and salads before bin night are my favourites! 1w
  •   wholesomecook @kikikbee I should get myself one of those! that's such a great idea! Love it. 1w

wholesomecook Most store-bought dips are laden with additives and preservatives but it's super easy to make your own. In #thewholesomecookbook I share many homemade basics recipes including 6 for clean dips like this tuna and feta dip which goes well as a tartine topper - served here with some organic haloumi because I had a craving - a smokey mackerel dip, a divine smoked salmon number (all three on page 251), a rainbow tzatziki, guacamole and salsa! Do check it out and stop paying for crappy dips. Book info via link in profile. 2w
