waitingtowakeup Seed Stitch Slouch finally finished! Needs a little tweaking (ex. needs to have more length) but overall I think it turned out pretty well! This was really just a practice one so I'll try and make a new and improved one with better yarn. 5mon

waitingtowakeup Finished! The pattern definitely needs some adjustments but I'm proud of my first fair isle piece! Do I just need to practice working on my tension to make the little v's stand out more or do you suggest using a larger size yarn for the white part? Just wondering how to make those v's pop. 5mon

waitingtowakeup Finishing up my first ever fair isle hat! It's going to be a birthday present for my mom this week. Still have to add a white pompom on the tip though.

waitingtowakeup Officially finished my first pair of socks EVER! I'm so excited because this is a goal I've wanted to reach for a long time. Knowing the basics of knitting socks has opened up so many more opportunities for future projects! waitingtowakeup The first mitt is finished! Hopefully my second one will look much better, but for a first try it turned out ok! I need to work on my tension, fix my stitches, and do the thumb part better. Keeps my hand nice and warm though!

  •   sarahtafelsky The increases on the thumbs just naturally do that, in my opinion. Even my fingering weight mitts have giant holes in the thumb gusset. See if you can substitute a different increase (google "knitting increases" for help!). 7mon
  •   waitingtowakeup Ok thank you so much! @sarahtafelsky 7mon

waitingtowakeup Working on my #DiamondTexturedMitts by Kerin Dimeler-Laurence -pattern found on #ravelry . These aren't going as well as I'd hoped they'd be and I'm not sure why. The pattern just isn't standing out as much as I seen it have in other projects' photos. I do have a question though that I'd love for anyone to answer: The pattern has me make left- and right-leaning stitches. So I'm pretty sure I'm doing them right, but is it normal for it to form a sort of hole? I feel like they shouldn't create that much space. My problem can kind of be seen in the picture and if you look carefully you can see the holes go all along the thumb gusset. Any tips? 7mon

waitingtowakeup Hahaha finally organizing it all I don't think I have enough, do you? Taking them all out of their bags made me so happy though because I'm able to see more of what I have and I remember where I got all of them Here's to starting some new projects soon!

waitingtowakeup Got the book 200 Fair Isle Motifs for Christmas so now I'm finally able to begin learning this technique! I'm so excited because I've wanted to learn for awhile and this book has been so helpful! I'm starting out with a very simple white pattern that I'm putting on a dark blue hat. Once I get the feel of it I'll try a new project with some more complex patterns. Definitely need to work on holding both yarns properly.
