veks_usa If anyone ever saw kyt up everywhere in Barcelona in the late 90's it's because oze ran into @zosenbandido when he was out bombing there one night . Check out his stuff, he and his friends have been doing this type of stuff all over Europe for years. I've seen a lot of people in America try to build careers off of copying this style of art. @zosenbandido 4d

veks_usa Heath Ledger and Julia Styles on their paintball date in 10 things I hate about you with your boy #veks up top. I actually used to sneak into a movie theatre in downtown San Jose through it's trash room a few times a week ( used to walk downtown all day turning door nobs to see if they'd open and tag inside the buildings) , anyway so I snuck in and bolted up the stairs into the first theatre, and it was this movie playing midway through and I recognized a girl I'd seen in Seattle as an extra in a party scene , and then next thing I knew I had this fillin hanging out. I saw it myself before anyone ever told me about it, plus I didn't even think Heath Ledger was good as the joker so whatever man. #10thingsihateaboutyou 7d

veks_usa Riddle me this though: Was wildstyle graffiti actually developed in Marin County, California by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley in 1974 ? 1w
  •   joshuapetker I worked with Stanley mouse once. Answer = no 1w
  •   veks_usa I mean I know Rick Griffen obv, got that book when I was young, but this letter set is crazy close to graffiti . I'd take lee Conklin over all of em all day in a letter battle 1w
  •   veks_usa @joshuapetker was he a dick ? 1w
  •   veks_usa Griffen just on that western goopy nouveau or whatev shrug 1w
  •   veks_usa Von Dutch hotrod 1w
  •   joshuapetker Not at all. Just boring. You know I love this period in not hating. We worked on doors live at the matrix 68 together. Not the coolest. 1w
  •   ebombglass Those album cover fonts in the 70's and 80's were on point 1w

veks_usa This magazine, to my knowledge, was the first time twist was ever interviewed, I had the magazine in my backpack the first time I was arrested in 1993 and the cop confiscated it, i still have the cover though because I took it with me everywhere and looked at it so much that it had Ripped off. #slap 1w

veks_usa I once took a picture of this train with my first roll of film from my first camera that i got for Xmas in 1994 and it forever changed the way I wanted to paint . 1w
  •   sean_orena @veks_usa Circus an Awol one ? 1w
  •   rossi_sippa Circus is the homie 1w
  •   youareanalien 1w
  •   veks_usa Omar (banksy disser) had gone on the graffiti newsgroup threatening camera man Carl of video graff and wrote that if anyone gave him their address he'd mail them a dub with every videograf , so I of course at age 13 or 14, did. Instead, 6 months later envelope showed up with a stack of photos, primarily cost, revs, sento, and a letter asking me to sent him pictures of Freight trains from the California yards in return. So I asked for a camera for Xmas. ️he preceded to mail me dozens of packages with graffiti news articles, revs and cost flyers and stickers, the revs record, all kinds of stuff. I was somehow even put on a free subscription list to the source magazine for 2 years, etc. they'd show up and have my first and last name then fly Id on the next line in the Mailing address. Being a teenager was awesome . 1w
  •   vealtastic Great pic and back story gee @veks_usa 1w

veks_usa Remember how smart and awesome it was when reas started doing throwback 70's graffiti 1w
  •   micah__garcia Word 1w
  •   ninjagraffiti Ha! 1w
  •   brendan I do prefer it to 50 color Euro Paint pieces tho... Feels more like vandalism. 1w
  •   magmaboarder Older graffiti seems more real and gritty, especially dull and desaturated burners. 7d
  •   gettopo Ok ppl who tried redoing this in the 2000s that werent around back in the day should def off dem selves. 6d
  •   haonmcdonutz REAS AOK Was very much around NY back in the day and has been many times imitated but never duplicated. 2d
  •   veks_usa @haonmcdonutz many many many many many many many many times , times infinity 2d
  •   skf.e19 Throwback graffs whatever, time and place I suppose and should be reserved to the ones who've long branded there own style(s) before hand. The problem with this type stuff is new kids coming along and not only using this as a starting point of reference but also an end result, not good. Graffs moving backwards because of it, moral of the story KIDS STUDY UP ON YOUR STRAIGHT LETTERS and vets paint what ya like 1d
