vegiehead Just a gentle FYI for everyone.
My website is HUGE. The back end of it is massive, there are hundreds of pages (many that are a part of my Academy and programs for my clients and students that you don't see), high res images, the members platform and my shop.
It was built to be user friendly- meaning that you can search for recipes a number of ways: -Either by the name in Google, for example 'Vegie head XYZ', -Using the search box function on my website
-By course
-By ingredient -Or by difficulty level.

I received a really nasty comment earlier from someone swearing at me, saying that the website took "12 F****** seconds to load" and she couldn't find the recipe.
I don't think people understand the work that goes into websites and web development. It's not just something that you start and finish on a certain date. It's constant. Websites are never complete nor perfect.
There's always new algorithms to think about, plugins to explore and test, new content to add and things to improve upon.
I've got a highly experienced web team, and I'm pretty damn handy myself (having been at it for over seven years now). There are hundreds of recipes. Almost 200 blogs. Videos. All of my products. My memberships. The Vegie Head Academy. My programs. Audios. All sitting on my site. That's huge.
While I don't take people swearing at me or my business- I am always looking for new and better ways to deliver to you what you love.
My VIP Club House members have access to a favourites button- where they can save all of their fave recipes and access them on one page. This is something I'm considering rolling out to my free level members, but it may be a while as its a big job.
We're looking into an app portal (once my big project is revealed - that's the first app to be released) but really, it's just going to be like the website and not laid out as pretty.
I urge you to be patient. We are in such a hurry now, that we don't want to wait 10-15 seconds for a page to load. We want things NOW.
I get that, I really do.
But like the saying goes.... All good things come to those who wait.

  •   _yogalicia_ That's a bit sad.. that someone would choose to attack you over something as small and insignificant as 12 seconds. She must not be a very happy person. You can't please everyone Adele. Just do what makes you happy, and let the negativity slide like water off a duck's back. X 2d

YUM!

My secret? Par boil those bad boys for 15 or so minutes, then bake or roast. It'll give you a crunchier chip and they cook in a hot flash.

vegiehead This time, just on twelve months ago, I was turning off the computer, pulling back on almost all of my work and saying no to pretty much everything that came my way. My heart was (still is) broken in trillion little pieces after losing Charlie. But it was during her loss that she gave me this gift. This idea. This knowing of my next step.
And only now, do I feel in flow again and ready to work.
Grief is a funny thing. It takes away your voice and fills you with this darkness, bubbling away under the surface, waiting to explode. It turns your whip-like thoughts into slow, drudging, miserable little droplets, coursing their way down your cheeks. The salty tears eventually turning skin red raw. It causes a fog so thick on your conscience that every little bit of energy, life force and love goes inward. It was all to keep me putting one foot in front of the other.
And smiling??? Fuck smiling. Put pins in my eyes cause it's easier.
When I had to emerge, out of my fog and back into some kind of normal, it wasn't me. I wore no makeup. I didn't dress up. I barely washed my hair... And on the days I did it was an effort. SUCH an effort to hold my shit together and be in that moment.
The one thing that kept me going was my routine. Get up. Walk Hank and Holly. Make them breakfast. Do any urgent work. Remember to eat and drink. Have a cry. Walk the dogs again. Cook dinner. Go to bed.
I'd never lost someone close to me to cancer before. Never saw the pain or wanted to absorb it into myself so badly. Never before wished it was me instead of her. Never thought it would happen to us.
Unless someone has felt the earth shattering pain of grief before it's very hard to relate or explain. It's hard to know what to say and how to act.
Some people put on a front. Others hide. I hid. My thoughts, my ideas, my personality... All in a little box.
But slowly... Slowly... The sparkle is returning.
And this chapter is going to be god damn beautiful. #charlieandhank

  •   vegiehead @ameliacocks oh love im so sorry :( it's going to take some time. Be kind to you. Feel all of your feelings wholly. And remember that we will all be reunited as souls again, in between lives and the many lives to come. 3d

  •   go4it1900 She is amazing. She talks a little and when I am down or cry she flys to me and gives me kisses as if she knows I am down! Your baby is watching over you. Believe me when I say I know what you are going through. Please contact me if you ever need to talk or support. You are not alone. Sunny (my bird) says hi to you. 3d
  •   lil_hummingbird Thank you @vegiehead it's so lovely to be able to support one another about our fur babies. They def enhance our lives. My boy was so spoilt. That definitely helped him live that long. The vet said he was the oldest dog on the books. Our other dog was a month off 19 when he passed away many years ago. I think if I was to be reincarnated as a dog I'd want a family like mine for sure for a long long life. 3d

vegiehead I am not one to vilify entire food groups, however there's something to be said for consuming less of the white crack and filling up on healthy, high protein, plant based options.
I've made a list of some of my favourite snacks that'll fill you up without giving you that sugar high.

Head to the blog!
