usmcmuseum We host many retirement ceremonies here at the Museum but this one had a special surprise ending.
In 1995 GySgt Francine Jarrett was inspired to join the Marine Corps by a recruiting poster of 3 female Marines. The Master Sergeant planning the retirement was able to not only locate the 3 Marines and have them sign the poster for the Gunny, he was also able to arrange for all three of the women to be here for the ceremony. The Gunny was, to say the least, overwhelmed and thrilled. It was pretty awesome.

Thank you MGySgt Marialena Bridges (Ret), Sgt Suzanne Gemignani and CWO Ebbie Lawson (Johnson) (Ret) for helping to bring a bright spot into our day as well! Semper Fi Marines.
