  •   diy_nyc Go to the yoga barn for some classes and the four handed massage at Jaen's spa for basically nothing. Seriously if u leave bali workout a four handed massage you are doing the while damn trip wrong. I still dream about it 5d
  •   diy_nyc Also we did a cooking class that was so so fun. It was at a healers house so the women taught us how to make traditional Baliense dishes and u eat them ( like 6 courses!) and then for a little extra if u want u can get a reading by the heater (think like Ketut in eat pray love but less commercial haha). So worth it. One if my favorite things we did on the trip! 5d

ubriaca I didn't know that ginger could flower such beautiful blooms! The petals are used to make sambal and taste as if you took all the spice out of ginger and just had its flavor and tart freshness left. 6d

ubriaca I spent the afternoon with Per Brahe, a Danish theater director and master of Balinese mask work. He was my teacher 14 years ago in Connecticut and I hadn't seen him since. I've thought about my time and work with Per all these years, they truly are some of my fondest/most profound memories as a theater artist (yes, I used to be an actor.) Today, I got to see the homes and workshops of two of Bali's best mask makers, including the one where the masks I worked with all those years ago were made. So, today was good. 1w

ubriaca I have been rewarded after a day spent mostly inside waiting out lame ass thunderstorms with this simple and delicious meal of nasi campur - a collection of little bites with rice, my favorite way to eat.
