typeter Another century-old find. My great-grandmother's prayer book. Not sure if, like with her future husband, this was a Christmas gift. 1mon

typeter A gift exactly one century ago: a prayer book for my great-grandfather from his mother as he prepared to leave for the war. 1mon

typeter Found miniature photo. 2mon
  •   amy_ash_ Amazing. Where'd you find it? 2mon
  •   typeter @amy_ash_ Tucked in an old bible with newspaper clippings, old calendars, pressed flowers, etc. No idea who is it although I knew the owner of the bible (she was born in 1892). 2mon
  •   amy_ash_ It's excellent. I've got similar ones--with logging gear and/or logs, but they're in tatters. Good find! 2mon

typeter Detail from stained glass. Can anyone tell me more about this? 4mon
  •   portlower The robot stag is the enemy of the robot snake. 4mon
  •   _johnmontgomery Hazarding a guess, but that looks like the top portion of a shepherd's crook with the Lamb of God inside. The flag is obviously the Cross of St. George. Not sure why the crook has a part of a building, unless it's imagery of the church itself. 3mon
  •   sejoss Send the pics to Jonathan's mum. I bet she would know. 3mon
  •   gwaxwgwakwalanuksiwe Never saw a fawn inside a crosier, perhaps it is intended to be a lost lamb herded back to the fold instead. 3mon
  •   typeter @sejoss Done. @_johnmontgomery and @gwaxwgwakwalanuksiwe Thanks you for helping me to understand this little puzzle. 3mon
