truth2beingfit #FitOver50 #Fitat57 - I know many of you do V-ups & these roll in tucks with a stability ball. This is a variation with a weighted medicine ball & hands on a BOSU. This works all that core along with balance.

PS: Check out my morning #squats video if you missed it.

1. Control move on the up & down as well as the tuck in back to plank position. I added a little extra 1,2 count in V-up as you can see I worked to pull it a bit higher. You don't have to go as high.

2. HARDER: Use a heavier ball. You can also pause at top of V and at bottom #plank position hold a couple seconds before next rep. You can also do all your reps & then hold a plank after last rep.

3. Do all of one variation or start with the V-ups & drop set to tucks or vice versa.

4. EASIER: Start with no weight stability ball & tucks. Progress to V-up with weighted ball.
I personally find the V easier but most find the tuck easier.
WITH MY KNEE ISSUES, THE V-UP FEELS BETTER THAN THE TUCK

HOME - You can use sliders or a towel or paper plates on a floor that will let you slide to mimic the move. If you have a kids play ball at home, try that. Don't go as high as me in V.

Work on your planks to strengthen core.

Showing how you can start with weights & either drop set to lighter weight OR start heavier for you & drop set to no weights to burn out.

I SHOWED HOW TO PICK A STABILITY BALL SIZE IN A POST YESTERDAY BUT WITH THIS ONE I COULD HAVE USED THE SMALL OR MEDIUM SIZE. Do what feels best for you.

THIS WORKS legs #innerthighs glutes #core because you can see I'm squeezing glutes on the up & at top. WATCH AS I DROP WEIGHT. I MOVE TOES OUT.

1. You can vary feet width from narrow to wide. Vary toes sraight to different toes out angles. No time in 15 seconds to show all that.

2. Keep that core tight. Proper squat form, head up. IN THIS VIDEO, MY HEAD ISN'T BECAUSE I WAS CHECKING FORM & WASN'T IN FRONT OF MIRROR. I like to have a mirror or even reflection off a window just so I can see form.

3. You can see the inner thighs working. I am squeezing the inner thighs & glutes on way up and good squeeze at top before starting next rep. I do this even with toes straight.

4. You can use dumbbells or weight plates in both hands OR hold 1 weight, medicine ball, kettlebell or weight plate in front by chest. HOME people can use anything they have per my past video notes.

5. Start with no weight to get move & PROPER FORM FIRST.

6. HARDER - Try 1 legged with either 1 leg straight out in front of you OR cross 1 leg over other with foot on opposite thigh just above knee.

I listen to my body and have found that this particular exercise kinda meets the situation in the middle. Gotta keep those knees movin yet this is a gentler way to do just that!!! We are all individuals. Just because a person seems different than us does not mean they are weird or strange or wrong. In fact, they may be "the most interesting person in the world" as the saying goes

My gym only has 3 sizes. Other gyms have more so read each box & choose a size closest to your height.

Feel is important too so see how each exercise feels as well.

truth2beingfit #Fitat57 #FitOver50 - Another cool obliques move for you. Again, I prefer non weighted obliques because I get blocky with weighted oblique exercises. You can use a light weight or weight plate if you prefer. I don't. I first did this way back in my early 30's.

1. Prop your feet against a wall to help with balance. It's still tough to balance but once you figure out your positioning for you, all is good. Do on a padded surface to be safe.

2. Control the move as always. Mind/Muscle link.

3. Choose the right size stability ball. I'm short so I use a small one. I will post a chart on this later today.

4. You can also try bending elbow more to back or front to see how it feels for you.

You can see I do 3 different positions. I go from wide V to wide V in to touch heels to feet together.

You can do all of one for each set or mix it up like the video. Really do mind/muscle link. Don't just go thru motions.

NOTICE THAT MY BACK IS NOT OVERLY ARCHED. Find a position on the ball that keeps back safe. Hold core tight.

If you have light ankle weights, you can make this harder but be careful & don't compromise form.

I think one way you can start towards this is to say 1 thing nice about yourself each day. DO IT! Also, work towards less negative selftalk. Accept compliments too. It took me years to just say thank you vs. coming up with reasons to say I didn't deserve the compliment.

truth2beingfit #Fitat57 #FitOver50 - A #triceps dips variation using #stabilityball. This is harder than it looks. The set up also - you can tend to roll off ball so just be careful. I had some roll off issues at first.

1. You can start harder with feet out & drop set to the rolled in feet version OR if staight legs are too hard, do all with bent knees.

2. You can try to add a weight or have another person add it to your lap if you want to make it harder.

3. Keep form & core tight. Be careful on lockout at top especially if you have joint issues. If this bothers your shoulders, stop.

truth2beingfit #Fitat57 #FitOver50 - Some dynamic movement you can do before a workout or cardio. Front knee lifts to side knee lifts to twists. This also works #core & #obliques. Do while watching your fave TV show too just as added core OR pick up legs higher but make pace faster but controlled for an added workout.

1. ALWAYS hold core tight & don't slouch. Stay upright.

2. Try to do 10-20 repetitions of each type in a row. Stop, rest for 30 seconds & repeat. Do more if you can. Rest less or more depending on how you feel.

Swing bent arms front & back with front knee lifts for added intensity. With side lifts you can bring elbows down behind you when lifting to side to up in air above head in a V for added intensity. For obliques, see my feed for standing obliques video.

3. You can even do just a few multiple times during day if short on time.
