tomplewe I wish I could convey what a beautiful slightly-cool early summer night it is out here in Cobble Hill, with a breeze in the leaves blowing in some clouds. Reminds me of the early hours of a Friday-night sleepover back in jr high with @adamcobabe and @jplewe. 3d

tomplewe Two culinary revolutions arrived in the mail today - do you know what they are? 1mon
  •   yoheinotheyyo No, what are they?! 1mon
  •   tomplewe @yoheinotheyyo the Soylent is a powdered drink that is engineered to provide 100% of what your body needs, so you could survive on it alone (or use it for quick snacks when you don't want to bother with real food). The Anova thing is a "sous vide" immersion cooker that makes it very easy to cook meat perfectly every time. Google them, they're both really cool! 1mon
  •   yoheinotheyyo @tomplewe Tom, I totally get what you meant by "bother with real food" I get that feel once in a while... Sounds very cool! 1mon
  •   judkennedy SOYLENT! I've been wanting to try that. It's a good candidate for my next fad diet. 1mon
  •   tomplewe @judkennedy I'm surprised at how good it tastes. Come out to Brooklyn and try some. 1mon
  •   yancy_zzz Start away from the Soylent Green though. 4w
  •   yancy_zzz Start = stay 4w
  •   judkennedy Brooklyn? How do I get there? Do I need a train ticket? Passport? 4w

tomplewe I'm trying Brooklyn this year. I knew I liked Cobble Hill, but I knew nothing about Brooklyn Bridge Park, just a few minutes walk away. Here are three big ol soccer fields with downtown Manhattan looming behind. What the?! Awesome! 1mon
  •   tomplewe This is a pier, so the soccer field goes right out to the water. 1mon
  •   monicanichole Yes, this is very cool......but...... 1mon

tomplewe One time they needed a photo of a kid crying at a fair (for a church magazine, no less). Rather than find an actor, they took a regular kid to a fair and had his mother ditch him and hide when he wasn't looking, then photographed the results. Not sure I ever recovered. 2mon
