timmyoneill Over two trillion cells working in concert to allow a body to climb ice. From the humblest of single cell beginnings billions of years ago we rise to overcome the greatest of challenges, both elected and involuntary. Last Wednesday we bade farewell to Mark Miller, a proud fifty years of writing the story of his intercellular journey. He embodied the meaningful and transformative exchange of ideas, caregiving and hope. The nucleus of his instruction was the vulnerability of recognizing need coupled with the courage to provide it. We partied until four a.m. toasting Mark's life, the absence of which reminds us of our presence, and to the boldness required to honor that life by living and giving the power of the possible. #markmillerlivesonthruparadoxsports Image of Mike Gibbs leading a natural flow above Red Mtn Pass post Miller Festival @riggingforrescue @paradoxsports @patagonia @ospreypacks @petzl_official @clifbarcompany @nativeeyewear @amandasalzman #molecularbiologyofmeaningfulexistence 2mon

timmyoneill Flying the friendly skies of Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2015. Thanks to my friends and family at @ospreypacks for believing in the health and well being of the wilderness. And for being a playful, joyous and creative brand, product and people. 40+ years in and they just keep getting better and playing harder. Great drinks, prizes and frequent flyer miles at their booth party last night. I am the captain of this craft (my life) and my integrity and values are my tail flap, steering a course towards peace, mtns, joy, rivers, health, adventure, laughter, love and life to the fullest. timmyoneill Neils Tietze walking amongst the giant lobelia in the equatorial rainforest. We borrowed umbrellas from African Ascents to ape urbane adventurers. We walked upwards through various environs towards a 17+thousand foot bifurcated stone summit. Towering moss covered trees surrounded by dense twittering undergrowth gave way to the "vertical bog" of squishing dripping footfall amongst the scratching branches of stunted denuded bushes. The flora was Dr Seuss, the comedy and absurdity was Dr Strangelove, & the mission to cure blindness and climb a peak straddling our earthen hemispheres is our Dr Tabin. The life of adventure-philanthropy is about identifying the periodic table of your mind/body/spirit, being the elements of your life, and creating and curating the molecules of the possible. @geoffreytabin and our friends at CureBlindness.org are changing the way eye care is being delivered in the developing world, leaving a legacy of sight, infrastructure and profound partnership and training. Monomaniacal focus on relieving world blindness demands the benevolent insanity of exponential care&cure. @patagonia @ospreypacks @petzl_official @nativeeyewear @clifbarcompany @amandasalzman 3mon

timmyoneill The night before we climbed Mt Kenya, I looked up into the insane multitudes of stars and #celestialbodies and simultaneously could locate Polaris the North Star, the end of the handle of the Little Dipper as well as the Southern Cross. timmyoneill Cumulus cloud shadows trick the eye, as if mini lakes sprout atop the desert sands of northern Egypt. I carried a carton of donated corneal tissues through SFO, JFK, Zurich to Nairobi for the past 36hrs. Cureblindness and Geoff Tabin raise the standard of eye care in the developing world - leaving not only a legacy of restored sight but more importantly the training and infrastructure required for years to come, enabling the local caregivers to reach the many who remain in the dark.

timmyoneill If why is the question than love is the answer.
Two of my favorite things in this @dickeyphoto snap are sipping a cup of coffee post alpine climbing in Rocky Mountain Natl Park (see @KindCoffee in Estes Park, CO) and drawing hearts on a community #Basquiatchalkboard

I live in cities. The wilderness is restorative and connects me to the ecological web of life on the planet. I am a steward of person, place and purpose and the woods made me do it. I just finished reading #UndauntedCourage by Ambrose into #WildernessAndTheAmericanMind by Nash and have #ASandCountyAlmanac by Leopold on deck. Preservation of wild places is the generation of smiling faces. #getshitdone
I bridge the lessons of wilderness immersion with the transcendence of my trips with @paradoxsports and generate flow, like a river, that carves canyons in my soul.
