thislittleport 'Tis also the season for soups! So many soups. This one is a sweet potato & red lentil soup, from @heatherbruggeman's course 'Whole Food Kitchen.' I've been eating it for lunch (with crusty bread) all week, yum. 22h

thislittleport 19 weeks I had my 2nd and final ultrasound on Friday, and thankfully, all looks well. Baby is healthy and growing well. / I'm feeling lots of movement, and my husband has felt bubba kicking now as well. Amazing how strong such a tiny person can be. / Apart from some lower back pain, I'm feeling pretty good. Still needing a lot of rest (I take a nap most days) but I see it as essential and make it a priority. / Now that I'm looking more pregnant and getting lots of pokes and kicks throughout the day, I'm feeling very connected to this little one. It's slowly sinking in that soon I will be a mother to 2, which is both exciting and terrifying. 3d
  •   thislittleport So sweet of you to say @lovelovelady 2d
  •   thislittleport @nlwyatt from Anthropologie of course 2d
  •   juliemishakov When you feel those first flutters, my favorite! 2d
  •   la_lainiere @thislittleport I agree that is far too many! And I'm also fascinated to learn about different birthing practices in different countries. Antenatal care and birth seem to be very much overly medicalized here and there are many practices that are still taken as standard here that elsewhere in the world are no longer practised (regular ultrasounds but also in relation to the birth, continual monitoring, systematic internals, “blocked” breathing...and being encouraged/told to stay on your back...) We would have preferred to have no ultrasounds at all but have felt pressured to “play the game” a little bit in the hope that with a full medical dossier we should be “allowed” a little more freedom when it comes to the birth itself. However we were able to have the scans with a specialised midwife rather than the hospital so they are done in a much more gentle way and she is careful to spend not too much time. Because things are so extreme on the one hand, there does also seem to be plenty of alternative care and support – it's just you have to search it out and (in our case living in a rural area) be prepared to travel long distances to benefit from it. From the start of the pregnancy, we sought out and surrounded ourselves with a naturopath and some fantastic midwives who are all doing a wonderful job in preparing us for what will (hopefully) be as much a gentle, natural and active birth as possible. At times it has been extremely frustrating trying to find our own path through the French way, but as the pregnancy progresses, we are both feeling increasingly empowered by all the support and guidance we are getting, so there is more positive than negative. 2d

  •   mamadela Time is flying!!! Oh those little kicks... I miss it so much. And two is pure magic. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world! (Except maybe three, someday!!! Do I even dare?! 😬) 23h

thislittleport This girl. I love her so much, but goodness the two's can be trying! She's all stubborn independence and feistiness. She knows what she wants and if she doesn't get it, watch out! But she's also sweet, affectionate and compassionate. She always asks us if we're ok if we sneeze, cough, drop something or otherwise hurt ourselves. She asks for "cuddles" and "hugs mumma" multiple times a day. She's incredibly gentle with babies and animals. So there's that 1w

thislittleport I had a very rare day by myself at home today, working, cleaning, doing laundry, all the usual, but also napping and pottering about in peace. Amazing how refreshing some solitude & quiet can be! 1w

thislittleport I've been wanting a french market basket for years. Finally got one for myself and I've been using it every day, whatever did I do without it? #themarketbasketco 2w

thislittleport I just love this time of year in Sydney... The cool, sunny days. The very chilly mornings and evenings. And yes, I even like the rain (to a point). 2w

thislittleport 17 weeks Feeling so much rounder than I was at this stage with Clementine / Had my first midwife appointment & got to hear the heartbeat, the sweetest sound / Getting lots of little flutters and pokes, mostly at night / Met with our doula last week, she's a fellow Canadian and she's great / Started going to prenatal yoga classes as a student and remembering how good it is to practice during pregnancy/ And that's what's new! 2w

thislittleport I don't change the sheets as often as I should and I don't make the bed every morning, but when I do both, it sure is nice! #simplepleasures 3w

thislittleport We're not finding out the sex of this baby so I'm trying to keep my crafting as gender neutral as possible (surprisingly tough!). I recently finished this hat, using a pattern from @dover_and_madden, which will be just perfect for a little girl or boy pixie to wear 3w

thislittleport In my family the birthday person always got their presents in bed, first thing in the morning. I love carrying on these traditions with my little family now. On her 2nd birthday, Clementine woke up to cuddles and gifts in bed, including this gorgeous doll from @mooseandbird. And then... 3w

thislittleport Just blogged a session I did recently with the gorgeous @clare_woodward, a Sydney kinesiologist. I love doing shoots like this with other yogis and natural health practitioners. If that sounds like you and you're after professional photos for your website or social media, shoot me an email at gabrielafearn@gmail.com. You can see the whole post at: www.gabrielafearn.com.au 4w

thislittleport It's been the perfect weather to stay inside and craft the last few days. I recently made this doll quilt (and matching doll) for Clementine. The pattern is from the book Handmade Beginnings by @annamariahorner and the fabric is from @mazeandvale. I won the fabric 2 years ago, but I couldn't decide what to use it for. I just love the way it turned out in this quilt! 1mon

thislittleport I'm pretty sure this is the worst/longest storm I've ever seen, and I say that as a Vancouverite. Thank goodness for gumboots, @mec rain suits, umbrellas and most importantly, friends! Hope all of you in NSW are safe and dry! 1mon

thislittleport Thank you so much to everyone for your well wishes and congratulations! We're so excited (and a bit nervous) to be adding another little person to our family later this year. I'm 14 weeks along now, still tired, but hoping to have more energy for all the things I love to do sometime very soon 1mon
  •   organicallywealthy Gaby so lovely to hear!! I miss you and your beautiful classes, hope you're good darling. Xx 1mon
  •   beautifullifeindustries Congratulations beautiful people xx 1mon
  •   dalstonsdiary Congratulations! 1mon
  •   everythinglight Oh congratulations! 2.5 years is such a nice age gap too! Very exciting! 1mon
  •   thislittleport @organicallywealthy miss you too! And I can't believe I still haven't made it to one of your classes. Fail 😐 1mon
  •   thislittleport @everythinglight I hope so! I'm a bit scared as it's a smaller gap than I thought we'd have, but I like to think they'll be buddies since they'll be close in age. Hopefully... 1mon
  •   everythinglight @thislittleport I have to admit that I always believed 2 years to be a great age gap until I had my son last year and realized I'd have to get pregnant really, very soon to make it! Clementine will be a wonderful big sister, I'm sure of it. Enjoy your pregnancy, Gaby! I hope you get a chance to post about the differences and similarities of first and second pregnancies. 1mon
  •   thislittleport @everythinglight I know! I was so not ready to be pregnant in time for a 2 year age gap, eep. I always thought 3 years would be good. My husband thought 2 so I guess we're splitting the difference 1mon
