thepapertyger When worlds collide...435 Hudson was the address of my first publishing job in NYC. A great old warehouse-y building with many large windows. How funny it shows up on my desk in Danbury this morning. #hatting #hatcityusa 1w

thepapertyger #Danbury's old jail. From a time when even jails had architectural significance. #architecture #connecticut 3w
  •   wowhorse I thought this was St. Louis at first! So many beautiful old buildings like this still stand there. 3w
  •   thepapertyger @wowhorse Too funny! Yeah, we have some great Victorians here, too. I love this roofline--and inside, even tho no longer a jail, many of the cells are intact :) 3w

thepapertyger From the right angle on a sunny day, you can see the names engraved on the glass. #danbury #connecticut 3w

thepapertyger #danbury has a beautiful 9/11 monument on a small median on the southern end of town. It's not always easy to stop, park, and get to the area for a photo, but on a beautiful blue sky day like today it's worth it. #connecticut 3w
  •   boredbehindbarn Wow, how did I not know this? I'll definitely make a point to check it out. Thanks for highlighting it. 3w
  •   thepapertyger @boredbehindbarn It's SO lovely--especially on a sunny day. I'd meant to stop many times, glad I finally did. 3w

thepapertyger I was tidying my desk and purging a closet this afternoon and came upon these from my last trip to Mont St Michel. #synchronicity #mtstmichel #France 4w
  •   hltonini Le sigh..... #favoriteplace 4w
  •   hltonini Awesome pics too 4w
  •   thepapertyger @hltonini It's just such an incredible place, no? :) 4w
  •   hltonini I could have walked around there forever. Our tour guide Vincent (Awesome Guide is the name of his business and it is true) made it perfect too. Learned so much about the history from him as we walked through each room. It poured down rain on us that day and at a place like that, I never even took notice. 4w
  •   thepapertyger @hltonini What a great thing to have such a good tour on your first visit--that can make such a difference. I've been there in many weathers, lol, and I find I like it best a little moody and drizzly :) 4w

An aerial view shows the Mont Saint-Michel off France's Normandy coast March 20, 2015. The Mont Saint-Michel 11th century abbey is expected to be entirely surrounded by the English Channel following exceptionally high spring tides. Parts of the French coast will be on alert for the so-called "tide of the century", with tidal coefficients of 118 and 119 respectively on March 20 and 21. •   huskyalum2011 Amazing! 4w
  •   antheam It's a must do 4w
  •   thepapertyger @antheam It has that touristy side, but there's SO much more, I think. St Malo, Normandy and Brittany were my first tastes of Europe (eons ago, lol) and they made a lasting impression :) 4w
  •   thepapertyger @huskyalum2011 It's such a cool place! A total marvel :) 4w
  •   antheam There is a new "runway" that was in an architecture article I have not been there in 15 years guessing it's different 4w
  •   thepapertyger @antheam It's been at least 5 years since I've visited, but last year or 2013 they got a new causeway/bridge type thing I think. I remember there being a lot of news about it at the time. 4w
