thecornerox I wasn't happy with how the moon came out. So I removed it in Photoshop. 7mon

thecornerox Throwback to when I used to make feather bookmarks a few years ago, which is how I started drawing again. 7mon
  •   indobohemian I love these!! Such a beautiful idea 7mon
  •   thecornerox @sissapower Thank you! I still have some that I've kept for my own use, and they keep a special place in my heart. If I can find a cost effective way to manufacture them one day (they require a good printer and a contour cutter--for cutting the outside shape), then I would sell them again (a handmade original would have been too expensive per bookmark). 7mon
  •   indobohemian That's awesome! Maybe one day I can commission you to make me one 7mon
  •   thecornerox @sissapower You certainly can. Anytime. Just drop me an email! 7mon

thecornerox "There was no mistaking it, Albert had stuck out his tongue at her. She was pregnant." I'm really enjoying this book. It's a quieter book. There aren't the tense dramatics from the courtroom scenes like in Mockingbird, but the book feels more complex in its quietness. It's 3rd person peeks into the characters' thoughts. This is where I'm finding the tension, in these internal processes.
Also, I love the cover art for the US edition. There was an interesting article recently in which different cover designers discussed the merits of using a design for the US edition that is reminiscent of the original To Kill A Mockingbird cover. Some considered it a wasted opportunity to not try something different (the UK edition did do something different: an orange cover with the title of Mockingbird created in the shadows of the the title for Watchman. It's striking and clever, and I love it for those reasons, too). I love the dark tree of the US edition, with its golden leaves and light blue lines, and its dark and textured purples to blues with golden yellow typography.

thecornerox I've been busy with other things lately (working on my Magazine site, Illustrator tutorials, acting class), so the sketchbook has suffered a bit. Took some time to unplug last night and ink this sketch. I sometimes love sketches in pen and ink form more, before coloring. There's something so clean about them. 12mon
