thatswotshesaid Ok here goes- some of you know my story, some of you don't. At the height of my battle I stopped weighing in at 112kg because I couldn't face the shame of seeing that number going up on the scale anymore (and let me assure you it most definitely would of if I did). Feeling sick and miserable became what I thought at the time was normal for me. This photo is for all of the people who flippantly say "it's easy for you". The photo on the right is me at my brothers wedding 7 years ago and at the time I remember feeling pretty dam proud of the 30kg I'd already shed- still am! Fast Forward to today and thanks to the Paleo lifestyle and making steady consistent healthy changes, I'm about another 25kg down, fitter and stronger than ever (and less driven by that number on the scale). Let's be honest it wasn't all smooth sailing- I mastered the art of yo-yo dieting like a boss and have done just about every stupid food related diet and form of self deprivation possible. So when my PT clients get frustrated or people I meet criticise and make assumptions- I respond with compassion and love because after all I've been in that world of hurt. I still struggle but I'm grateful for this experience, it's a gift that allows me to connect with and drive others further than they ever believed they could. I can be strong for them and believe when they can't. We are all learning. Let's stop comparing and making assumptions- we all have a story, let's focus on health, love and lifting each other up so that we can all be our best. Keep striving and never give up- be kind to ourselves and each other. X

  •   joewest12 You will smash 12k easy! When is the race? I'm with you in saying prep is key! Half training is going well! Long runs now are up to 17k and after this week only 4 weeks out! Due to being sick last week had a set back in training and only managed my long run at 15k. It's a new week and on track to hit the 17 this weekend. 3w

If anything this challenge and oak has been a mental game and has been critical to may way of thinking to training as a whole. It's amazing what we are capable and the ability to move and enjoy ourselves is out right awesome! 3w
  •   joewest12 I ran in new shoes and parts of my body that have never been sore are now sore. It was a great moment to work out that it was because of my shoes! I've running in the wrong shoe for the last 8 weeks of training! 3w
  •   thatswotshesaid Oh man I remember that feeling. Having the right shoe- people just don't get how important it is until they run distance or get new better shoes! My insoles both have mega yuck blisters because my sneakers are half a size to big what are you running in @joewest12? 3w
  •   joewest12 I'm getting a blister on my left insole. New shoes it starts about 13k? Old could feel it at 10. Running in Nike Pegasus. 3w
