tessmccabe Had fun chatting to designer @dlimiter a while back for today's episode of @thenewnormalpodcast... We ranted about childcare centres and the getting-of-children-into-one, juggling family life when one partner is studying full time, and topped it off with some birth story flashbacks (sorry about that Dave). Listen in at www.thenewnormalpodcast.com or on iTunes! 2d

tessmccabe A new episode of @thenewnormalpodcast went online today! Recently Emma and I sat at @gourmetgirlfriend's kitchen table and chatted about kids and cooking (and kids who cook) and since that time I've been much more willing to accept the mess and get my 2-yr old Master M helping in the kitchen with me. Muffins, pikelets, soup, pizza... he's on track to be cooking us a 3-course meal by 2020. Thanks so much Ruth for the prompt! Listen in at www.thenewnormalpodcast.com or find us on ITunes/the iPhone podcast app. Delicious. #podcast #parenting #cookingwithkids 3w

  •   tessmccabe I think it's true they eat about 5x as much if they have had a hand in making it too @gourmetgirlfriend! 3w
  •   gourmetgirlfriend Yes it definitely affects enthusiasm levels that's for sure! 3w

  •   tessmccabe THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE!! 4w
  •   varilongmuir We stayed at the piermont.com.au just outside of Swansea a few years back and it was bliss! Beautiful cozy cottages right on the bay and one of the best meals we've ever had in the restaurant! Like something straight out a Nancy Meyers movie! 2w

tessmccabe Rainy afternoon activity: I am told what to draw and I draw it, though I retain at least some creative license e.g. "A man" looks kinda like Ira Glass. I await The Jacky Winter Group's representation. 2mon

tessmccabe I had the parental week from hell last week. Things happened that we will probably discuss on @thenewnormalpodcast at some point. But some good things happened too, one of which was the newest episode went live! In ep 7, @Emmamakesthings and I chatted to artist @jasmine_mansbridge about how she fits in her creative work around parenting 4 kids (soon to be five, so an update will surely been required next year!). From toddlers to teens, Jas has heaps of delicious insight to share. Listen to it if you're having a lousy parenting week, the story at the end will for sure put a smile (or wince?) on your face 2mon

tessmccabe Hey jewellery peeps, need your advice. I am trying to restore this locket of my mums to its former glory (or some kind of glory). Yesterday it was dark 'n' dirty with crusty green bits and an overnight soak in vinegar has revealed this beautiful hombre of copper-y pink. It's definitely cleaner, but on the inside of the locket is a tiny bit of silver which I assume is the original colour. What's my next move, without resorting To chemicals that will make it look too new? Thanks in advance! x 3mon
  •   abbymade If it is actually silver and you wanted to clean it without chemicals you could try a bit of toothpaste on a toothbrush and give it a bit of a scrub. It could have been silver plated and parts of it have worn off.. It looks like it could have been alloyed with a fair amount of copper which would be hard to make the those areas look silver :) xx 3mon
  •   tessmccabe @abbymade thanks heaps Abby, I'll try the toothpaste idea! Have a lovely day xx 3mon
  •   issyray @tessmccabe you need ammonia and little bit of washing up liquid and warm water to remove the oxide or silver dip - never used toothpaste even a silver cloth will shine it up solid silver or silver plate 4w
