tarynleonard Romans 5:3-5 ESV
"More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us."

tarynleonard Most of the time, I don't know what God's doing or why but I do know that Jeremiah 29:11 assures me, as a believer, that He knows the plans He has for me plans to prosper and not to harm, plans to give me a future and a hope! So even though I don't know what God's doing, I know what He's thinking #10daybiblechallenge I challenge @raeleeeeeen to share 10 verses in 10 days and tag a friend each day to do the same! 1w

tarynleonard There are people in your life that are there for a reason, either to bless you or test you. God gives and He takes away, it's totally up to Him! He has a reason for each person entering and leaving your life. Just know it's for the good of those who love Him! "We know that all things work for the good of those who love God, those who are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28. Love those who are hardest to love, hardest to look at, hardest to talk to. Love the people who persecute you, call you names, lie to you, and judge you. Jesus loved the people who mocked Him, spit on Him, humiliated Him, beat Him and crucified Him. The least we can do is go to school/work and love those who hurt you. Don't take the people in your life for granted because one day they may not be there. Get to know them and share Christ with them. Most people want someone to care, allow them to see that someone does care! His name is Jesus! He died in the cross for your sins. He died so that He could demonstrate His love in such a unique way to get our attention! Wake UP sleepers! Wake up! We need to be in our schools/work serving Jesus Christ! We need to set and example and exemplify God's grace that He has so freely given to us even though we don't deserve it. When you were called to be a disciple of Christ, you were called to be fully on fire for Jesus, not lukewarm. Get on fire for Jesus and start impacting the people around you. You may be the only source of Jesus some may see! Take advantage of that. You'll never change the world by acting like it! So be the odd one out and start something new, be different! Stay in your Bible! Grow closer to Christ! "But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Wake up, Sleeper! It all starts with a humble and focussed heart :) #trustinHim

tarynleonard When we put our problems in God's hands, He puts His peace in our hearts. "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." Exodus 14:14
This verse is so eye opening! It's so easy to want to fight fire with fire, but in the end all you get is a bigger fire. Something I recently went through has taught me that you should let God defend you! Instead of trying to defend yourself, pray to God and let Him deal with the situation. A peace will fall upon you, just like this verse says, He will give you rest!

tarynleonard God has great plans for you! He has a predestined purpose for your life. Believe in Him and let Him accomplish His will! Don't doubt Him and try to take your own route. I suggest taking the route to submit in complete trust/belief in Him and He will accomplish His good work in your life. (Jeremiah 29:11)

tarynleonard Luke 4:18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed;"
When I was starting to have a personal relationship with Christ, I didn’t understand Jesus’ mission statement. I was dealing with untended brokenness and trying everything to fix myself. When I grasped the power of Luke 4:18, this truth changed me: The power of the cross is not found in what I do, but in what has already been done for me. Jesus didn’t mean for us to do this alone. It’s not our strength or power that will transform us. Yes, we make changes. Yes, we open our broken heart to His tender touch. Yes, we allow Him to move us in uncomfortable directions to discover new paths and leave old ones behind. But we are in a partnership with God.. and He’s bigger! I also discovered I didn’t have to earn God’s love! Maybe, like me, you thought God would love you one day, when you had it all together. Jesus’ mission statement proclaims that He loves us today. With our baggage and hurting hearts. When we grasp that kind of love, it changes us. It compels us to return that love, and to trust Jesus from our hearts. This trust helps us listen for His voice. We sense when He is teaching or redirecting us. We weigh temptation in light of our love for our heavenly Father. This relationship helps us discover our true selves. Last, Luke 4:18 reminded me that I didn’t have to run away just because I felt broken. A hurting heart can send us running down paths we may regret, searching for something or someone to ease our pain. Jesus’ mission statement invites us to stop running and rest in Him, expectant that our true selves will emerge with His healing touch. The truth of Luke 4:18 is ours today to hold close, for Jesus came to heal our hurting hearts.

tarynleonard "But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
This is one of my favorite verses by far! A lot of times it seems to be hard to completely surrender yourself to God's plan. This fantastic verse reminds us of one of God's most precious promises: When we wait on the Lord, He will renew our strength! We get into trouble when we attempt to develop our own strength instead of waiting for Him. Read in God's Word, anytime people run ahead of God and rely on their own strength, they get into trouble. But on the other hand, when people inquire of the Lord and wait for Him to lead, they are rewarded with His power! We need to spend our time in fellowship with the Lord. Reading His Word, speaking with Him in prayer and listening patiently for His still small voice to guide us. Not running ahead of Him or lagging behind Him, but walking close right at His side. Draw near to God today, trust Him completely :) I challenge @_rachelsan_ to share 10 verses in 10 days and challenge a friend each day to do the same #10dayBibleChallenge

tarynleonard I know this is long but it's worth the read, I promise :)
God is a great artist; there is no question about it. But God's greatest masterpiece isn't some of the stunning sunsets you may have had the privilege of seeing. God's greatest masterpiece of creation that He has ever made is you! In fact, Ephesians 2:10 says that "We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago" (NLT). When we see ourselves, we tend to see our flaws. We see so many things that need to change. But God says, "You are my work of art. You are my poem. You are my masterpiece." God is not a father who is oblivious to his child's faults. He is your all-knowing, and all-powerful Father in heaven who can see what you will be when it is all said and done. God can look at you and can see what you will become before you have actually become it. We look at ourselves and say, "I don't get it. This doesn't look like a perfect person. This doesn't look like a work of beauty." But you are a work in progress. It is a process that doesn't just happen overnight. It is going to take all of your life on Earth. It won't be completely finished until you get to heaven. Then you will see that you indeed are a perfect work of art - God's masterpiece.

tarynleonard "Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience." James 1:2-3
Although none of us like to suffer, suffering is an important ingredient if our lives are ever going to have the chance to mirror the life of Christ. If we want to be more like Him, then we, too, must suffer and persevere. I don’t like the valleys that life brings my way. I haven’t yet learned to confront them with a joyful spirit. But I do know this, my walk with Christ can never be strengthened until I learn to walk through those valleys with Him, hand in hand. #choosejoytoday
