talking_tree I'm back to rolling with the #tbirds this semester at Southern Utah University. Nearly spent my entire summer traveling the American Southwest and April and May traveling the Mexican/US borderlands. I'm still working on those images but I'm glad to be back. #tbirdnation #cedarcity #utahgram 12h

talking_tree I was asked if I was part Native, I said no and that my ancestors killed Native Americans but then stated that my heroes have always killed Cowboys. #Geronimo #Chiricahua #Apache 17h
  •   janell_james_studios My great grandfather x 5 was a Cherokee Indian Chief. I'm 1/16. I'm proud of my roots, and feel in my cellular DNA, all that is truly authentic and powerful in the world. 15h
  •   m0kona17 Great post! Thanks, I love goyaałé! I always say my father looks like him lol, Proud to be Chiricahua, and Yaqui, native pride ftw!! 14h
  •   frailey_ @janell_james_studios hey,me too. Well, idk anything about my great grandfather. But I'm about to get my DNA sequenced and find out more about my family. 14h
  •   themcsour @janell_james_studios I'm full blood. 1/16 nothing at all 13h
  •   paolo_vino Group identity is what's killing our world right now (and always has). Dignity and nobility adhere to the individual from which spring all rights and responsibilities. Group thinking is responsible for all madness. 12h

talking_tree Shot with a #Lensbaby on the outskirts of #CedarCity #Utah. I'm entertaining the pros and cons of moving to New Mexico. I get a lot more respect in Santa Fe as an artist than I do back in Utah. I've got a potential gallery gig there and my stone-carving friend, Somers Randolph advises it could be an important strategic move for me. 3d
  •   nuevo.mexico.calvin I can not emphasize this enough, do the numbers, Santa Fe is the least affordable town in NM, look at it realistically, then look at some of the towns nearby, even Albuquerque, an hour south, price wise is a bargain. We are not known as "The Land of Entrapment" for nothing. Do your homework, think about it, then go for it. 3d
  •   photocat24 And there is Las Cruces. Nice, relaxed and very affordable 3d
  •   julzeezee Or Silver City! 3d
  •   avelinom What @julzeezee said! Lots of galleries, great starting off point for many places in NM and AZ, and incredibly affordable. 3d
  •   notorious_ing New Mexicans definitely value art. I'd recommend Albuquerque for living though, Santa Fe is expensive living..land of the rich. 2d
  •   debbi6528 Come on down! 2d
  •   everythingcreator Seriously lazy effort. 2d

  •   iamtreasures It's been years since I've been there. When we were young my little brother got lost and for three hours we were frantically searching for him in a sea of people. I need to come back and create a new memory to offset that one that sticks in my stomach and gives me the cold sweats when j think about it! I can't wait to see your photos from the market!2w

  •   knectla Looks like you favor Panny Lenses on Oly bodies....do you have any Pan bodies? 3w
  •   talking_tree @knectla these two are the only ones I own actually. I have the Olympus 75mm, one Voigtlander, and five other manual focus lenses. But the #Nocticron is hard to beat! 2w
  •   knectla @talking_tree I rented the #nocticron ..... LOVE that lens. If this was my profession, I'd certainly purchase it. Still debating...I found the hood strange with the thumbscrew, but liked the felt-ish interior to minimize flare...what's your favorite wide angle? 2w
  •   talking_tree @knectla I purchased the Kowa 8.5mm F2.8. I like it! 2w
  •   knectla @talking_tree that's some cool glass....I think I'll put the $ aside for the 42.5 instead!....it's so sharp and feels so nice. The Kowa can wait 2w
  •   knectla @talking_tree thanks for the advice....awesome images, and love to see other peoples #m43 rigs! 2w

talking_tree Old steamrollers like this stretch clear back into Cedar City's recent past and this particular one was relocated to Frontier Heritage State Park in Cedar and somewhat restored with a paint job but I loved it most in its original rusted glory when it was in its natural environment. I guess this is why I like to document things before they are changed. 3w

I'm asking my followers to please sign a petition to stop the canyon mine from threatening the tribal homelands of the Havasupai and Hualapai peoples by visiting http://tinyurl.com/defendhavasupai - the link is also in my bio!
