  •   sweetpickle @cwjiphoto @cherry_sis thanks Charles and Becky! I got down n dirty for this one...hunched over down to the ground with my phone flipped so the camera lens was about an inch off the ground. Sun was super bright so it was hard to tell if I was even getting what I was looking for hahah. These little flowers were all over the ground but not very dense, so an overhead shot couldn't capture how cool they looked. This took care of it though. And yeah Becky, I hope so too. There weren't even a ton when we were out there, but you'll see them around randomly, plus the red and pink and purple ones really stand out when you spot them🏼🏼 1d
  •   sweetpickle @she.one.t that should've been my caption ;) 1d
  •   instawhowhatwhere Beautiful 1d

sweetpickle I haven't seen the original Transformers animated movie from 1986 in awhile, but from what I remember this rock formation looks like it could've been one of the character's faces 1w
  •   sweetpickle @cherry_sis as you should be! Hahah coffee is a great thing to have planned out beforehand, that's for sure (especially tent camping). I want to go back again eventually, and next time actually camp in the park like you are 4d
  •   sweetpickle @dbnett man, it's so crazy and surreal looking everywhere you look out there. I was constantly finding myself thinking or saying, oh this looks like a set from this or that movie...that looks like a giant rock Picasso face...or Pixar's Radiator Spring's is definitely set here in JT 4d
  •   twintom.photography Hahaha...guess I understand what you mean Zack. Got the same feeling the first time I've visited New York and thought that each time Woody Allen will come around the next corner. Even in Central Park I was waiting for Dustin Hoffman "Marathon Man"...📽 2d
  •   sweetpickle @twintom.photography that's pretty funny. Very similar to millions of starstruck people who visit LA every year too, I'm sure, hoping (and to a lesser extent expecting) to see celebrities around every corner. This is probably more akin to seeing animal shapes in clouds though I guess hahah 1d

  •   jamies.paper.dreams @sweetpickle I'm pretty sure we saw his work @LACMA. Can you visit his studio? 4d
  •   sweetpickle @cottage_crone definitely worth it 4d
  •   sweetpickle @dbnett hahah I think you got it all, but I wouldn't say anything if you omitted one...thanks David🏼 4d
  •   sweetpickle @jamies.paper.dreams well, this is an outdoor "museum" of sorts that's free and open to the public. I'd suggest looking it up online (or even on my hashtag or location tag on this pic) to see more pics and find out more information. Really, really cool to wander around and see all of his stuff...glad I made the stop while visiting Joshua Tree, and it's only about 15 minutes outside of the heart of the town 4d

  •   dbnett So great. It looks like a movie poster for low-budget horror flick -- and I mean that in the best possible way! 2w
  •   sweetpickle @dbnett don't worry, I took it in the best possible way, thanks! 1w
  •   twintom.photography Agree with David @dbnett . And a perfect example of those horror movies is "Hills have Eyes"... 2d
  •   sweetpickle @twintom.photography exactly...I can't tell you have many offhand references we made to that movie specifically while driving through the park 1d

  •   dbnett So great! I feel like I've been transported back to 1957. 🏻🏻 2w
  •   sweetpickle @dbnett thanks David! You know it's funny, but I wonder if a few people didn't see these and just think that I reposted them from somewhere else instead of making them myself using my own pictures. Anyways no big deal, but my parents actually said they weren't sure when they first saw them hahah🏼 1w
  •   dbnett The fact that people didn't know is a testament to how good they are 🏻🏻 1w
  •   sweetpickle @dbnett perhaps, but in any case I appreciate it very much 1w

  •   ohiojim Cool job Zack , you seem to be picking up more and more great photo skills and doing some fun ,very professional things with them! 2w
  •   sweetpickle @ohiojim thanks! Fun to play around sometimes, plus I love the original NPS posters so I thought I'd try my hand at recreating a few... 2w
  •   dbnett Love it! National Park promo poster, circa 1973. 🏻🏻 2w
  •   sweetpickle @dbnett 🏼🏼 1w

  •   sweetpickle @dbnett @cherry_sis hahah thanks guys, I'll let you interpret however you'd like without telling what (I think) they really are. What I can say is where I found them, there were tons...so let's hope they're just berries 3w
  •   sweetpickle @rendezvous_who glad to hear it, thanks :) 3w
  •   twintom.photography Hahaha...I hope they are berries too. Not everyone comes in peace in these days... 3d
  •   sweetpickle @twintom.photography AND we know from watching too many movies what earth threatening terrors can come from something as seemingly innocent (and small) as a berry 1d

  •   cherry_sis Great shot of the moody & beautiful clouds we've been having lately 3w
  •   dbnett I love this photo. The dynamic composition is like a slow boil -- all of the elements seem to be in motion. 🏻🏻 3w
  •   sweetpickle @cherry_sis thanks! Pretty cool little park area down there next to Liberty Station I've never seen before 3w
  •   sweetpickle @dbnett thanks David! Honestly I was just trying to get a cool pic with a plane taking off, but they always end up being so much smaller in photos hahah 3w

  •   dbnett Great perspective! At first glance It looks like a train track headed up a mountain grade. Where in Borrego is this? 3w
  •   sweetpickle @dbnett now that you mention the train tracks, I can definitely see that. And this was taken at the Visitor's Center, which is a short drive from the first intersection you hit when you enter Borrego Springs coming down the mountain. My first time, and I'd say worth checking out 3w

  •   sweetpickle @dbnett I certainly appreciate it 1mon
  •   cherry_sis Ohhhh no! Poison oak isn't fun! I just encountered a similar thing... I was attacked by a million (no exaggeration) of mosquitos this past weekend in Lone Pine while trying to get a sunset shot. They were biting me through my clothes The things we do to get "the shot" lol 4w
  •   sweetpickle I know right? That's horrible though, and I believe you when you say you're not exaggerating. It's so awful when it's that intense too. Fortunately the extent of my difficulties when trying to get "the shot" is typically just looking like a total idiot when trying to macro a flower or something 4w
  •   sweetpickle @cherry_sis whoops...🏼 4w

  •   dbnett The compositional dynamics and depth of this photographic symphony are exhilarating. The complexity and interaction of the elements in this photo telegraph an extraordinarily beautiful, static tension. Standing ovation, baby! 🏻🏻🏻🏻 1mon
  •   sweetpickle @dbnett fantastic David, thank you 🏼🏼🏼 1mon
  •   cherry_sis I would have to agree with David @dbnett It's like he took the words right out of my mouth (lol I wish I commented as eloquently as he does ) Anyway, this is a stunning shot! 1mon
  •   sweetpickle @cherry_sis thank you Becky! And I appreciate the kind words, but I wouldn't expect anyone else to replicate David's descriptive prose 1mon

  •   dbnett This is an absolutely exquisite photograph. It is solemn and serene, all at once -- the quiet geometry of life and death, woven into an eternal moment. Bravo. This one goes in your exhibition! 🏻🏻 1mon
  •   sweetpickle @dbnett I never like to think much into my pictures, let alone (rarely) caption them myself. But I must say you really have a way of consistently capturing the sentiment or emotion my pictures evoke perfectly, every single time. If and when I ever have an exhibition I'll be commissioning you to take care of any accompanying writeups or descriptions. Hahah I just like to take the pictures🏼 1mon
  •   dbnett It would be my honor and pleasure to be the scribe for your exhibition. 1mon
  •   sweetpickle @dbnett don't hold your breath 1mon
