  •   sweetpickle @insatiably__yours thank you! 1d
  •   sweetpickle @cherry_sis you should, I'm sure you'd take some good ones too! It's so cool when you're looking around at everything on a larger scale and then stop to start looking at the small stuff 1d
  •   dbnett The macro work you're doing is magnificent. This time channeling your inner modern painter, you've captured a great slice of abstract art. 🏻🏻 1d
  •   sweetpickle @dbnett thanks heaps David! I hadn't even thought about it that way, but (as usual) I can see it like that now after you've said it 6h

  •   sweetpickle @dbnett someone's #1 heheh... 2w
  •   sweetpickle @twintom.photography oh yeah, totally! The middle finger is the new index finger 2w
  •   cherry_sis Lol! Too funny! One of my friends that I went to JT with, posted a pic of all the chollas and said she felt like they all were flipping her off 🖕🏼 Now I shall never look at chollas the same! 2w
  •   sweetpickle @cherry_sis that's pretty funny, I've actually thought the same thing about chollas before out in Borrego 2w

  •   cherry_sis Yes! 2w
  •   instawhowhatwhere It's funny you know, every time I look at your pics, it makes me want to reach for my camera. Pics are inspiring, really mean that!! Awesome! 1w
  •   sweetpickle @instawhowhatwhere well thank you very much, that's honestly one of the nicest comments I've received on here. I guess pictures really can be inspiring but I never think of my own pictures in that way, so I really appreciate hearing that. My problem is that I love using my iPhone and editing with it so much that I don't use my real camera enough! 1w
  •   instawhowhatwhere Welcome :) 1w

sweetpickle I haven't seen the original Transformers animated movie from 1986 in awhile, but from what I remember this rock formation looks like it could've been one of the character's faces 1mon
  •   sweetpickle @cherry_sis as you should be! Hahah coffee is a great thing to have planned out beforehand, that's for sure (especially tent camping). I want to go back again eventually, and next time actually camp in the park like you are 4w
  •   sweetpickle @dbnett man, it's so crazy and surreal looking everywhere you look out there. I was constantly finding myself thinking or saying, oh this looks like a set from this or that movie...that looks like a giant rock Picasso face...or Pixar's Radiator Spring's is definitely set here in JT 4w
  •   twintom.photography Hahaha...guess I understand what you mean Zack. Got the same feeling the first time I've visited New York and thought that each time Woody Allen will come around the next corner. Even in Central Park I was waiting for Dustin Hoffman "Marathon Man"...📽 4w
  •   sweetpickle @twintom.photography that's pretty funny. Very similar to millions of starstruck people who visit LA every year too, I'm sure, hoping (and to a lesser extent expecting) to see celebrities around every corner. This is probably more akin to seeing animal shapes in clouds though I guess hahah 4w

  •   sweetpickle @dbnett hahah I think you got it all, but I wouldn't say anything if you omitted one...thanks David🏼 4w
  •   sweetpickle @jamies.paper.dreams well, this is an outdoor "museum" of sorts that's free and open to the public. I'd suggest looking it up online (or even on my hashtag or location tag on this pic) to see more pics and find out more information. Really, really cool to wander around and see all of his stuff...glad I made the stop while visiting Joshua Tree, and it's only about 15 minutes outside of the heart of the town 4w
  •   insatiably__yours Love all the different colored metal 2d
  •   sweetpickle @insatiably__yours thanks! And actually the colors are just the reflection of the background it faces: the blue from the sky, and the lighter beige and brown from the desert landscape. Pretty cool 1d

  •   dbnett So great. It looks like a movie poster for low-budget horror flick -- and I mean that in the best possible way! 1mon
  •   sweetpickle @dbnett don't worry, I took it in the best possible way, thanks! 1mon
  •   twintom.photography Agree with David @dbnett . And a perfect example of those horror movies is "Hills have Eyes"... 4w
  •   sweetpickle @twintom.photography exactly...I can't tell you have many offhand references we made to that movie specifically while driving through the park 4w

  •   dbnett So great! I feel like I've been transported back to 1957. 🏻🏻 1mon
  •   sweetpickle @dbnett thanks David! You know it's funny, but I wonder if a few people didn't see these and just think that I reposted them from somewhere else instead of making them myself using my own pictures. Anyways no big deal, but my parents actually said they weren't sure when they first saw them hahah🏼 1mon
  •   dbnett The fact that people didn't know is a testament to how good they are 🏻🏻 1mon
  •   sweetpickle @dbnett perhaps, but in any case I appreciate it very much 1mon

  •   ohiojim Cool job Zack , you seem to be picking up more and more great photo skills and doing some fun ,very professional things with them! 1mon
  •   sweetpickle @ohiojim thanks! Fun to play around sometimes, plus I love the original NPS posters so I thought I'd try my hand at recreating a few... 1mon
  •   dbnett Love it! National Park promo poster, circa 1973. 🏻🏻 1mon
  •   sweetpickle @dbnett 🏼🏼 1mon

  •   sweetpickle @dbnett @cherry_sis hahah thanks guys, I'll let you interpret however you'd like without telling what (I think) they really are. What I can say is where I found them, there were tons...so let's hope they're just berries 1mon
  •   sweetpickle @rendezvous_who glad to hear it, thanks :) 1mon
  •   twintom.photography Hahaha...I hope they are berries too. Not everyone comes in peace in these days... 4w
  •   sweetpickle @twintom.photography AND we know from watching too many movies what earth threatening terrors can come from something as seemingly innocent (and small) as a berry 4w

  •   cherry_sis Great shot of the moody & beautiful clouds we've been having lately 2mon
  •   dbnett I love this photo. The dynamic composition is like a slow boil -- all of the elements seem to be in motion. 🏻🏻 2mon
  •   sweetpickle @cherry_sis thanks! Pretty cool little park area down there next to Liberty Station I've never seen before 1mon
  •   sweetpickle @dbnett thanks David! Honestly I was just trying to get a cool pic with a plane taking off, but they always end up being so much smaller in photos hahah 1mon
