sweetgrassp It was like nature was a game. The air got you high, the sky, and there was the feeling of something wondrous and once in a lifetime. Sport was the same as soul, and skis were the vehicles to ride to rapture in gravity's new mechanical religion. Your body could open your mind. You could find enlightenment through motion. Anything was possible. Even the moon was just another mountain we would ski upon. [from Peter Krays new novel THE GOD OF SKIING] : @joeyschusler 3mon

sweetgrassp In my first thirty years of life I roamed hundreds and thousands of miles. Walked by rivers through deep green grass Entered cities of boiling red dust. Tried drugs, but couldn't make Immortal; Read books and wrote poems on history. Today I'm back at Cold Mountain: I'll sleep by the creek and purify my ears. [Han-Shan] 3mon

sweetgrassp Six years back we spent the better part of our winter in this particular grove filming for Signatures. We lived on white rice covered with jelly, sleeping in a concrete bunker covered in the previous tenants hair. Late at night sometimes, we'd have roman candle wars in the apartment, sleeping bags catching fire, down feathers hanging in the air. We were young, and hoped that, maybe, with a little masochism, we might be able to carve a little space for ourselves in the crowded ski film scene. Walking past the old Silver Birch the past few days speaks to all the change and time that's passed since those early sparks and flames. Our ever-changing eyes reshape and reimagine new possibilities, new lines and expression alongside all the nostalgia, memories, and friends. All of which are alive in the bark, and the billowing, billowing pow.
