sunshinemaryjane This ridiculously sweet, big-headed nugget (known by us who feed him as "Tiggs") was abandoned outside our complex a couple years ago by an unknown asshole who moved without him. I keep seeing posts about "Animal Abandonment Month" and I have to say it absolutely fucking sickens me that someone would just up-and-leave their pet. Not that I mind feeding him, or opening the door for him when it's raining/during winter, I just want people to know how fuckin shitty it is to bring an animal into their lives (who learn to DEPEND on you) and then just leave it to do the exact opposite of what it's been domesticated to do. It ends up either having to learn to fend for itself for the first time ever, or more often, die. I'd like to see those people in question get dropped off in the woods during winter with no supplies, food, or knowledge of their surrounds and see how long they last. Tiggs isn't the only stray around here either, sadly he's one of many. Even sadder than that, most of them don't make it through the winter. Please, if you're going to get yourself an animal, devote it's ENTIRE lifespan's worth of time into caring and providing for it, and if you can't, find someone who will. Or just don't get a gawd damn pet. 3mon
