styleworthwhile Breakfast no. 2 - oats with banana and peanut butter. Haven't been eating peanut butter as much as I used to since I transitioned to a high carb low fat vegan diet. And surprisingly, I've haven't found myself craving it! But since I still have a lot in my fridge, I decided to have some as a treat today. 15h

styleworthwhile There is absolutely no shame in being a beginner. Every expert was once a beginner! If someone is where you want to be, learn from them and see how they got there! There's no need to struggle on your own when there are so many people out there who have already gone through the process. Everyone has something to offer! 4d

styleworthwhile What I ate today as a high carb low fat vegan:

930am - smoothie bowl with 2 handfuls spinach kale mix, 1 banana, 1/2 cup raspberries topped with 2 more bananas and 1 mango.

11am - 3/4 cup oats and 2 bananas topped with cinnamon.

2pm - 3/4 cup sprouted rice & quinoa mix, 1 cup yams & sweet potato, 85g firm tofu, broccoli, chili flakes, garlic powder and herb seasoning.

5pm - 1/2 cup chickpeas and 2 bananas blended with water.

830pm - 1/2 cup oats, 1/4 cup berries and cinnamon.

Yes I do eat a lot! I eat about 80% carbs, 10% protein and 10% fat. In the beginning, transitioning to this lifestyle was rocky - not because I missed meat, but because I had to figure out the approach that worked for me. It took much time researching, experimenting and also making mistakes! It was also tough because I didn't know any other vegans personally so I couldn't go to anyone for help. But now that I've figured it out, it was worth it! I love this lifestyle! I have no cravings, I feel healthy, energized and can still do intense workouts! I now truly understand the meaning of be word 'lifestyle.' To me, the decision to become vegan was like how some smokers give up smoking overnight and never turn back. That's the best way I can explain it. If you're interested in possibly becoming vegan or just knowing more, I'd love to share how I did it!

styleworthwhile Homemade curry soup with mung bean noodles, broccoli, carrots, mushroom, enoki, potato, chickpeas, celery and garlic. Oil free and high carb. The best! Contrary to popular belief - carbs don't make you fat, it's fat that makes you fat. Eating tons of healthy carbs on this vegan lifestyle hasn't made me fat at all! 1w

styleworthwhile After experimenting with different approaches to plant-based diets, I've finally figured out a way that works for me! Everyone's body is different and there isn't one way that works for all. It's always good to take pieces from various sources to fit your own lifestyle! I'm thinking of doing a FAQ on plant-based nutrition on the blog soon so let me know if there are any questions you have. What I ate today:
9am - smoothie bowl with 2 handfuls of spinach kale mix blended with 1/2 cup berries, a slice of ginger and 1 banana with water. Topped with 2 more bananas and cinnamon.
11am - smoothie with one orange, 2 carrots and a slice of ginger. 2 more oranges on the side.

2pm - 1 cup quinoa, 1 cup sweet potato yam mix, 85g extra firm tofu.

5pm - 3/4 cup chickpea and 2 bananas blended together with water.

830pm - 3/4 cup oats and 1 cup strawberries topped with cinnamon.
My diet as a vegan is very different than the 'usual' way that most people eat. I'm able to eat a larger variety of foods and get the nutrients I need. Lastly, I don't seek to convert anyone to a vegan lifestyle. If your diet is working for you, then stick to it! However, if you're interested in this lifestyle, I'm always open to talk about how I've made it work for me!
